Round 1 v Warriors (Monday Night @ TD)
Round 6 v Raiders (Monday Night @ Canberra Stadium)
And now AGAIN
Round 9 v Newcastle (Monday Night @ OP-7.00pm)

Looks like the NRL love giving us Monday Night games. If I remember correctly we hosted them on Monday 16 July,2007
and we smashed them 44-0 in front of 10,223 fans.

we did smash them, but from memory it was more like 14k fans.  I'm not surprised we get monday games.  They are a pain, but we get good crowds

also the semi final against parramatta in 2006 it was very cold for a day game

Wind chill was pretty nippy that day.
Don't mind away Monday night games. Get home from work, have a couple of beers, kick the kids of Nickelodeon channel and watch the game.
Pain in the backside when it's at home though.

If last year is anything to go by then that should be the end of the home Monday night games for us for 2008. I am sure Gallop or someone from the NRL mentioned that Monday night games had to be shared around evenly so it wasn't the same teams all the time playing on Monday nights. But then again I also recall Gallop saying what a great deal the new TV rights deal was for RL viewers, cough, cough bullshit, cough!

Andy, they did a deal as he said for Rl fans, it is just that they don't believe that they have any fans down here in Melbourne and the AFL are too scared of any competion no matter how big or small it may be and will do anything to make sure that no one else watches anything but AFL.
I am back again.

Sadly the obsession with Friday & Monday nights will mean the end of my Storm membership  :(
I cannot justify the loss of about $1000 of income over the season & continued agro with my employer.

I'd hardly say it's an obsession.  It's just how footy is these days.  Friday nights have been for ages, and whilst Monday nights are new, it should only be a maximum of 2 home monday nights a year.
I know i'd still be a member even if I had to miss a couple of games a year...

Waldron is on record as saying he would like ALL our games to be Friday or Monday night games.
Both nights are late & busy days in the job/industry I work in,which means.
A: I lose a lot of 'expendable income' by finishing very early on those days.
B: My employer is NOT HAPPY about those early finishes

Result............
I miss games,(how many Friday - Mondays this season ? So far it's four right, that's a quarter of our home games),every game missed makes the membership less attractive
less expendable income = Less free cash for memberships.

We keep getting told it's all about sponsors & money right - Well it's about my time & money as well  ;-)

I see your point, but in reality the Friday night games have always drawn a good gate, and it appears Monday nights do the same.
Anyway, not here to argue so, until we dissect the Storm v Roosters game...

The hubby and both younger kids are at karate Monday & Friday nites - that makes it hard for us too.  :(
I know we all can't get everything we want but I want Saturday or Sunday games - that's when real footy is 'sposed to be played anyway  :P
