Thurston got off because the judiciary didn't want a player to be rubbed out of a finals match, if Smith went before a judiciary he'd get the same result. but to be honest I don't think he'll even be charged, it was a pretty minor tackle. Penalty sufficient.

I watched the replay of the game and they were saying how Piggy Riddell had a burning sensation after the Jezza cruncher.  That probably explains the smell of bacon around the stadium yesterday.
