MELBOURNE Storm centre Matt King has been slugged with a $5000 fine for publicly ridiculing NRL grand final referee Paul Simpkins this week.

Addressing a contingent of Storm supporters as part of the club's fan day on Monday, an intoxicated King called Simpkins a "dickhead" after the whistleblower's handling of the controversial 15-8 premiership victory by Brisbane.

"As everyone knows, Paul Simpkins is a dickhead," King said.

He can have the $1.35 thats in my purse!

not to mention Bill Harrigan.

Although every1 here agrees with him. He knows he can't say that, but what he could have done was get any1 else there up on stage and asked them what they thought of simpkins. Then just agree when the person says what he said

once the amber fluid starts flowing down his throat i'm sure it would have contributed to his 'freedom' of speech. FREE MY ARSE!!

Had been thinking something similar myself....... ok, so he was wrong..... but don't we allllllllllll agree with what he said, I think we can all send in gold coin to the club to show our support for Kingy...... albeit not said professionally..... Cause let's all face it


SIMPKINS IS A DICKHEAD.......

I returned to work and was dreading it because I thought everybody would be stirring about the Storm getting beaten, WELL wasn't I wrong, every single person voiced their disgust at how the boys were shafted by the referees, even the one eyed Bulldogs supporter who serves me my coffee in the McDonald's drive thru was clearly disgusted!

Matty was only stating what everybody knows and far worse has been said since Sunday night!

Onya Matty, and I reckon if everybody put in $5 the fine would be well and truly paid!

I too was hating the thought going back to work as I thought I would cop it a bit about the Storm's loss.  But in fact, everyone who spoke to me was quite sympathetic - and most of my workmates aren't even really into league! 

Some of them said they watched the game on TV & even though they didn't know much about league, they could see the Storm were definitely being screwed over in a massive way... 

I will be putting in a few bucks to help cover the fine.  Well done Matt King for speaking the truth! 

In today's Tele a reporter agreed it was what everybody was saying and that Steve Bracks should pay the fine!!

Why should Steve Bracks or Storm supporters pay the fine, Simpkins should pay coz if it wasn't for him stuffing up then Kingy would not have said it.

So where do I deposit the dough?

I'd seriously consider this but the only option I know of is a Paypal account which has some fees attached. If people are serious about donating to a "Kingy's a Legend" fund, perhaps the club can give us their bank account details for deposits.
