We already have almost too much depth in our outside backs, I don't think we need to be looking elsewhere to sign more

Apparently his manager is talking to the ARU. I'm not sure if we should fit Tahu in our squad. I'd rather have the current runners we have now than him. We can probably fir two or three of them under his salary. He's already an Origin player so he's already got an inflated figure.

Tahu's experience in the backline would be handy, at the fact that he's a former Victorian would make it nice if he was to return, but realistically, as Thunderstruck has already pointed out, he would have an inflated price by being an Origin rep so the retainment of others should be paramount.

If there is dosh left over once all our guys are re-signed, then sure have a go at getting him, but it should not be a priority!

No, of course not. Well I did say 'guys' didn't I, and Moala being a pussy doesn't fit into that category :P

Tahu will NOT leave Newcastle. Believe me. And besides i really don't think we need him. We have one of the most promising backlines in the game IMO :D

I find the abuse that Moala receives on this board rather disturbing - we have some outstanding young players and great depth in our backline at the moment, which is great of course, and I certainly don't think Moala should be in our starting side with the form of some of those young guys, but he has served us pretty well in the past when we have had serious problems, and I don't think the abuse he now receives on this board is warranted just because of his 2004 form.

Don't take it personally Lucas - this is not an attack on you, but your post is one of many that is just not necessary.

Your point is taken Insomniac, but Moala has only ever been a relatively adequate back up winger. He knows how to sniff out a try, but doesn't earn too many himself, and IMO rarely has.
Granted though, we are maybe a little harsh on the bloke, me included on here, but it is a passionate response to a passionate game!

well it isnt only us storm fans who dont think moala deservers a spot in first grade the coach..."bellamy" hasnt picked him since that excellent show of handling....so if bellamy wont give him another go i dont se why we should.....i never liked moala...and its not only his 2004 form either....he has sucked before aswell...

I agree - I don't think Moala should be in first grade either - like I said, we have so much talent and potential from young guys that are in form, there's no way I can see him finding his way back into the starting side.
My point is that this is no reason to abuse him relentlessly - since his shocker, the abuse hasn't stopped. It was weeks ago - we won't see him again this year, and I don't think he'll get re-signed - so get over it! I hope he finds a new home and regains some form... he certainly won't get a confidence boost from these "fans".
