site idea

hey everyone,

this isnt exactly 'storm' news but just an idea for this site that i thought would be intresting and would like everyones opinion...then hand it over to buzz and see what he thinks.

The idea is something along the lines of "diaries of a storm supporter" or "diaries of a travelling storm supporter"...along those lines...im sure there are more creative people out there that could make up a better name.

and i was thinking it could be a thread or a page on the front page that consists of a storm supporter writing up a diary on game day.

In my head i have it pictured as maybe a storm fan traveling up from melbourne to a game in sydney or wherever else(and visa versa) and taking pictures of their trip to the other state(or country) then they give a little diary entry about what they do before the game....and any other nice or nasty stories they would like to tell about their trip. And then have some kind of report about the game...nothing special just their thoughts on the game. Maybe some photos from the game, if they are lucky enough to get into locker rooms or after game event then maybe get pictures there aswell. And then a little bit about their trip home.

We could have members PM buzz(or someone else as i know buzz is a busy lad) and nominate themselves to do it:

ie:

hey,

i will be traveling to NZ to watch the storm and warriors play and would like to do the diary this week/month etc.

Now it doesnt have to be every week...maybe every month maybe every second week or whatever. Its different, no other site does this type of thing and i think it would be intresting and fun.

What is everyone elses thoughts? would you have a go? and feel free to add ideas here or change things...its only a rough idea.

I'm liking this idea Kingy! We can also use the reports from the game to place into the Wiki.

Love to hear some more thoughts on this one!

I hope we can do the Player of the Year again - would be a great addition to the website. And this time I promise we'll get some certificates printed up to give to the players at the presentation ball (unofficial of course)!

If other people want to get more involved in adding content to the site - regular articles, maybe interviewing players at training / post game, whatever - let me know and I'll see what we can arrange!

I can add a blog feature to the site, if someone opinionated enough wants to run a regular blog!

Jamie(or was it james?) had a blog up last year on a different blog site and it was awesome! very funny stuff and also had photos and clips from games. if he could do it that would be awesome.

Can I get in early and ask to have a go at round 2? I'm quite looking forward to that clash.

have we any word of what happened with the girl who was going for a cadet scholarship or something? she wrote an article about the storm i think

i have a few ideas too, thread ideas, like "make a storm advertisement"......i reckon i'd be cool if we were only able to use cheap editing software and a home handy cam or something and they could only go for 30 seconds....get our competition on

Ah my friend Lauren.
Unfortunately she didnt get the cadetship, but she is studying media somethingoranother at RMIT this year and she is a storm member again this year, i shall speak to her about joining the site(again) and ask her if she wants to write things.
I'm sure she'd love to (although it may focus on the physical atributes of certain players

)

Sure, why not!

Anyone who would like top be a judge - needing access to watch the games, as many as possible, preferably thopse with fox who can watch all, let me know that your interested in being a judge again!

I'll start a new topic for this.
