Week in week out on this forum people keep telling me I'm off the mark in saying Glen Turner is useless.

I want to know exactly what you people see in him, and Craig Bellamy for that matter.

He lacks any type of work rate, he doesn't make an impact in either attack or defence, and he couldn't catch a freakin cold.

Time after time Bellamy has given him a chance in the starting 13 and IMO he is yet to show that he is even of first grade standard.

At the start of the year, I thought he was a battler who was handy cover, but that was about all. There was a period during the season where he was really good for a number of games in a row, and looked like he was going to turn into a good player. His last few though have been ordinary.

I think the contract saga is hurting GT. He has shown what he can do, but doesn't do it consistently enough throughout the course of the season
Storming our way to glory!

the way i see GT is a player who just does enough to sta in the team. He plays comfortable footy, where as players like kearns work 20% more during the game ie they do the little things they get in and try make more metres if struggling. GT is a good player and a good guy but he doesnt get us enough metres and often gets smashed in defence. we have a pretty small pack as it is and altho its sad to see a player go that has been here for awhile i think we need a bigger guy instead of him.

GT is great, Storm better sign him. He wants to stay with Melbourne, isnt demanding alot of money
and when he plays isnt flashy but can get the job done, what more could you ask for?
He isnt Kearns, but he dosnt get paid as much as Kearns either.

Turner is a good honest battler that is a handy player. If he's not asking for too much I'd like to see him stay.

You get what you pay so if he gets the job done ( for cheap ) then i say keep him. Isnt flash but works his arse off.

he is a good player nothing special but if he was in the team he should be used on the bench...because we have better backrowers then him. But you want players on the bench that are going to have an impact when they get on the field...i cant see GT having to much of an impact.

There's no point in releasing someone that really wants to stay, that at worst is a competent forward, if there is no one better/available to sign. I agree that his contract negotiations would be playing on his mind, but he should really be forcing the Storm's hand by having blinders that demands an extension of his contract... I for one hope he gets it and has an impressive injury-free season next year.
