Who thinks Joe Williams from Souths could be a goer. He showed a bit early in his career, but has struggled to get a game lately. Might come a bit cheap too, giving us more to spend on forwards

yeah a bit early on he was alright...but now he is really struggling to make it back into first grade....if you cant make first grade at souths...then you arent a 1st grade player

Joe Williams is a good talent, I reckon he'd be a good buy,
but I'd like to see Marc Bretnall from norths givin a go, Ive watched a couple of his games on Fox, and
he looks like a classic halfback, good kicking game, passes well, with what ive seen from him.
It seemed like he wasnt afraid to try things, which is good,
I can see Bretnall and Tim Smith fighting out for the 7 NSW origin jersey in 5 years time.

I'd like to see him around too but as I said elsewhere, his own dad doesn't think he's ready yet

Wat makes you think it will be 5 years time??.....that'll happen in 2 years after Joey retires.

We already have Orfords replacement.

CRONK

Sign him to a five year deal starting from 80 a year with the final contract worth around 280.

I wouldn't be looking anywhere else, then when Brentnall is ready we will have another great half combination.

I still don't see enough in Cronk to suggest he will be able to lead the side around to success

Not like Orford can do much better at the moment. We need a good halves combination, not just a good halfback or a good 5/8, and a set of forwards than can move 100 meters per person per game or at least average about 8-10 meters per hitup. It took Orford and Hill years to develop their combination, we can't expect the same from Cronk after only a handful of weeks in top grade. Orford though, clearly has lost his touch and focus so I wouldn't expect much from him.

I think that if we could get Crocker to leave the Roosters immediately he should play halfback over Orford now with Cronk at 5/8.

Stormwarning, Cronk is not worth $280,000 a season. He would have to prove himself over the next few years before the Storm contemplate giving him that.

If we were to go looking for someone, I don't think that Joe Williams is the go. I'd much prefer to see them go for the young Newcastle halfback. Dane Campbell I think his name is. From what I've seen, he's the most promising young halfback running around in the comp. He just has no-one around to support him because the Knights outlayed so much on one player to sit on the sidelines that they lost the rest of their team.
Glory, Glory to South Sydney!

LR, not yet, but give him some time and you'll be very surprised.

the key is signing him to long term NOW before we lose him

i reckon with a full off season at halfback under bellamy cronk will improve immensly..if he has a good pack infront of him..that will allow him to open his game up more IMO.
