Panthers Vs Storm commentary
"][when we are away from home
That's the thing isn't it? We could win every home game in the season but that's not going to hold up come finals time (presuming of course that 12 wins is enough to even make the eight). Even if we did make it on that alone, we'd be out in the first week because there'd be no home final.

thats what i was screaming at all night. forward momentum of penrith player stopped for 4 or 5 seconds - offload allowed. storm player momentum stopped for 1-2 seconds - called held. penrith player being pushed back towards in goal - called held. storm player being pushed back more than 10 meters midfield - no held call until tackled.cam wrote:How long until he calls HELD???

We know the team can play awesome, we know they have so much more skills than what they displayed last night. Now where's cooper? Where's the guy who's sick of me complaining after each game that we don't play well enough huh???? You happy with last night's performance are you? THAT WAS UTTERLY CRAP!!!
Anyone else think every member of the Melbourne Storm top 25 players need to see a psychologist? Goddamit, nearly everytime we play away, and this goes back to the last five seasons, we play crap, yet at home, the players gel like their lives depend on it. Y'know, I'm not entirely sure it's a good thing they're largely shunned by the local media, these players obviously need to be "harassed" weekly, they probably need to know what it feels like to be in the spotlight week in week out. A glimpse of atention by the sydney media, a mention of test jerseys, BAM! everything falls apart. That was disgraceful.

The only thing I can take from last night was we played so badly (we only played about 10 minutes in total) and we were still in it with 10-15 to go.
Maybe we need to move to the C.C. to understand that we can play and win in NSW

what about hoffman..he went from one extreme(playing great)to another extreme(played shit last night)....i to thought hill was the only one tryign at times....but king, bell and geyer were the only decent players for the storm...i still cant understand, still cant find an answer to as why we cannot win away?

oh my god, don't get me started on hoffman. he was atrocious!! it was embarassing seeing him play last night, he went from state origin contender to a struggling rookie! the most glaring error he did was not to try to outrun wesser on the inside when he was the only defender between him, Geyer on his outside (or King, both bald, can't tell ) and Smith on his inside. Plenty of space on the inside, Hoffy went to the outside and surprise, surprise, got bundled out

Good to see a Stormer being honest about the ref, most are just blaming him for the loss.

We all know that Penrith had a game plan last night and that was to target Websters wing. It paid off. The Panthers have been studying the Storm all week trying to pick up on weaknesses (If there was any) and they found out one of them.If Webster isn't dropped I'll be very surprised.

theres a diffrence.....most arent blaming him solely for the loss...but alot of the calls he made should have gone storm's way..the calls were also when we were ethier on a role or were in the oppostion 20...so he helped by making shitty calls..BUT he was also making terrible calls towards panthers..like that galea disallowed try...i deadset thought it was a try...should have been 40 points that penrith were on....ethier way we would have lost...but clarke was still shit
btw how good was ox's kicking ....

Was definately worse than the Manly game.
Too many errors, doubled with the painful refereeing display, coupled with the lack of a team performance.
Talk about chocolates to boiled lollies, nah scratch that... what's worse than boiled lollies!
1 through 7 were off form, although IMO Bell was the pick of our backs. Hoffman believed his own press unfortunately while our bench had little impact. The only one who held up his reputation was Smith IMO.
Very disappointing effort really.
I'm glad we don't play in Sydney for a few weeks, maybe by then we'll be able to break a couple of nasty streaks and habits the team has developed.

We can win in Sydney though, unfortunately we have a couple of very nasty streaks and habits to contend with at our next Sydney engagement: Souths at Aussie Stadium... I mean surely they could have demolished that ground by now!
