Well…..Moses Leo has felt the coaches wrath but tbh….there’s 3 or 4 blokes VERY lucky to be playing FG this week….(via Fox Sports)
Storm team: 1. Sualauvi Faalogo 2. William Warbrick 3. Jack Howarth 4. Nick Meaney 5. Manaia Waitere 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Harry Grant 10. Josh King 11. Joe Chan 12. Cooper Clarke 13. Trent Loiero 14. Tyran Wishart 15. Alec MacDonald 16. Jack Hetherington 17. Davvy Moale 18. Shawn Blore 19. Hugo Peel 20. Lazarus Vaalepu 21. Moses Leo 22. Trent Toelau
Analysis: Craig Bellamy has resisted the urge to make mass changes despite threatening to do so for the second week in a row after four straight defeats. However edge defence has been an issue all season, which has seen Manaia Waitere promoted from the bench to start in place of Mose Leo, who drops to the reserves. Leo has struggled defensively given his background is in Sevens rugby and he still needs to learn some of the nuances of the game in defence. Interestingly, Bellamy has kept faith in JoeChan, who copped an almight spray from his coach at half-time of the loss to the Warriors and was hooked for the second half. Bellamy has shown he is a coach who demands certain standards, but his lack of options in the back row at the moment may leave him little choice but to keep the faith in some of his underperforming players. Shawn Blore joins bench for his first game of the season in a timely boost and he will no doubt get some minutes to help shore up the edge defence. Chan is an excellent player at his best, but with rookie Cooper Clarke also in the back row, the Storm are struggling for experience.

Blore to start in the back row and Clarke to lock, Loiero out please.
Anyone notice we won both games without Loiero this season, have lost all 4 with him?
Please for the good of the team, drop him CB!

Blore/Lisati back and Clarke to the middle is my one hope of us getting back on track.
This was my issue with signing him in the first place. People liked to compare it to Warbrick because of the Rugby 7's background but it took Will a year or two of playing before he looked like a first grader. Leo has played way less footy, we are asking him to play a harder position and he's actually older.Leo has struggled defensively given his background is in Sevens rugby and he still needs to learn some of the nuances of the game in defence.
Things could change instantly with a massive attitude shift and commitment. Cooper showed the spirit missing from all of his team mates, if only everyone could follow his lead.
I call it tinkering around the edges and all hot air and hope to god I'm not going all the way to Canberra for nothing!
Position - Left right out or hung out to dry

I know that he's given away multiple penalties but he's now a bit like NAS in being often penalised on suspicion rather than investigation. That six again where it was a Wah pile on and then a penalty against us for a much less infraction. Still discipline needs to be addressed for the whole team
Interesting observation re: Loiero. I was chatting to a mate of mine about the game v the Wahs and one of the first things he said was "Trent doing Trent things."Papenhuyzen23 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 10:52 pm Blore to start in the back row and Clarke to lock, Loiero out please.

Fair call re Warbrick and Leo.blazza18 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2026 10:42 am Blore/Lisati back and Clarke to the middle is my one hope of us getting back on track.

Warbrick played a full season in Qld Cup before he got anywhere near the NRL.
Leo had a delayed start to his season with North Sydney Bears last season due to injury. After only one or two NSW Cup games he was picked in the NRL and then suffered a bad shoulder injury in his 2nd NRL game that kept him out for approx 12 weeks.

Unfortunately, I'm not expecting much from tomorrow nights match for us. I'm surprised that we are still faves with the bookies when Canberra had a good win in Perth last week, and the match is being played on their home turf. We do however have a good past record playing in Canberra! Hopefully, the boys pull their fingers out and we can master up a win!!
He's given away 5 penalties through 4 games. 2 of which last week were utter bs imo. 146 tackles - a penalty per 30 tackles. Nevertheless, this puts him as most penalised player in comp per game at this stage behind only: cody walker, latrell, sam walker, tom flegler
