I doubt Bradley would be a better option…

Warbrick wasn’t good this week, but any thoughts of dropping him are way too early in my opinion.

Not coming forward to take that high ball is a killer and 100% all on Warbrick.

Getting beaten in behind him with a kick may just be good tactics from the Broncos, using Melbourne’s up and in defence against us. Turning a big bloke around without momentum. I don’t think Warbrick did too much wrong there.

Getting beaten by a long cutout ball, again partly good tactics from Kevie trying to exploit our defensive structures. Maybe Will could have held off shooting in, I would need to watch it again and take not of what the players inside him did.

No idea.
Exactly. Match review have no idea.

Yeah look I’m just not really sure what anyone sees in Warbrick, he was a QLD Cup specialist for a few years then got a few chances due to injury’s, has finished a couple of simple tries and scored that one banger against the Roosters to win the game, but other than that he is good for a few bad reads per game, always a few missed tackles, and I’m not sure what it is with him but his errors are always at the worst time in the worst spots on the field.

Look he seems like a good club guy, well liked etc, but he just isn’t what I would call elite, and the problem isn’t so much him being in it’s who he happens to be holding out, it’s Fa’alogo time and there’s no more excuses, he isn’t going to displace Paps and he needs to be on the field somewhere, wing is where most future full backs cut their teeth, I just can’t see how anyone justifies Warbrick any longer, again he is a great guy and has a bit of a cult following but he just isn’t very good, and has had a quite frankly awful start to the season. All just my opinion of course and I don’t pretend to know better than Bellyache, I guess I’m just itching to see Sua out there more than anything, he could be such a game changer for us.

Papenhuyzen23 you keep complaining about Warbrick shooting in this is the style of our defence.

For years people have been complaining about our wingers shooting in - there were heaps of similar complaints about Suliasi Vunivalu.

I take your point re: Sua, but he has been out injured. I don't think Will is as bad as you are making out. Yes, not catching the ball on the full was a horrible error.

Regarding Will being a Qld Cup specialist for a few years. He only played Qld Cup for one year, he would have made his debut during that first year except he got injured that week and Grant Anderson debuted.

Warbrick played NRL from start of last season. Prior to his one year in Qld Cup he was with NZ rugby sevens team.

Other than Sua, not sure any of the other options are obviously better than Warbrick - Anderson, Tonumaipea, Ieremia, Bradley, Seve.

Hey Lucas,

This is a forum, a place literally designed for discussions and opinions to be expressed, I was replying to Hero mentioning Bradley potentially being used on the wing in the QLD cup to replace Warbrick.

If you read the forums you’ll also see I’ve supported Warbrick, said he is a good club guy and I also suggested he be used in the centres just about all off-season, mainly to try and minimise the issues we are currently seeing with him now, again all just opinions, you don’t have to agree with it but imagine coming on here to post purely to tell someone else to stop sharing their opinion.

If you don’t like it or don’t have anything to add except snarky comments then just scroll on past champ. Footy talk here is all I’m interested in, 95% of people might not care about what I say but that’s the beauty of forums, you can just keep scrolling.

I do think Sua is the future honestly, fair point Scooter he has be injured and for all we know Fa’alogo is just as bad defensively in this system, the wingers could very well be byproducts of the Storm system and they are probably coached to do what they do.

I am itching to see Sua in more than I want Will out, I’ve obviously ruffled a few feathers with my opinions on Brick so I’ll zip it, we have some good problems coming up with basically a full squad to pick from.

In Bellamy we trust 💜

As much as I respect Sua's ability to make a fist of any position, the thought of him going up against Dom Young reminds me of when Brisbane had to play Kodi Nikorima on the wing against us opposite Suli. And that wasn't pretty.

Size is definitely a valid concern with Sua on the edge, he has looked pretty steady under the high ball with his leap and positioning though and I just look at shorter wingers like To’o at the Panthers and think height isn’t always a necessity, although Bellamy has always liked his tall-timbers out wide.

I’m sure he will be bled via the bench but I don’t think he would look out of place on the flanks either, exciting that Fa’alogo, Chan and NAS could be back for the Bulldogs game, selection headaches galore I think we might be full strength across the whole squad for the first time in a long long time 🥳

Won’t get much of an argument from me, Munster was pretty poor outside of origin last season, needs to string some dominant performances together for me to believe he is back to his old form.

He looked ok for his first hit out though, he and Blore may form a nice little partnership on that edge and let’s be real, having Papenhuyzen out the back and Blore on his hip this year vs Meaney/Loiero last season is like comparing apples and oranges.

Chan played Q cup yesterday too. Whether he comes back after Blore had a good game, I don't know but it's probably a good headache to have

Most clubs including us normally go with utility at 14 then carry two forwards & a player that can cover back row & forward if needed. So in saying that, with all players on deck let’s assume chan gets his spot back.

11. Chan
12. Katoa
13. Loiero

The bench will then look like this:

14. Sua/Wishart
15. Welch
16. NAS
17. Blore

I think 17 will be chosen between Blore/Howarth/Macdonald.

Unfortunately for MacDonald I can’t see him being on the bench if we are already carrying Welch & NAS, MacDonald plays as a forward or lock we need a player that can cover back row & forward & Bellamy has showed the same thinking with his benches he picks most of the time.

So that’s down to Blore or Howarth. Both can cover back row but where Blore has the edge is he can be used as a middle forward as well, not so sure Howarth I’m sure he could if we needed him to in the middle of the game with injuries ect but his played all his footy as back row & centre. Blore has actually played middle forward when he was younger & played middle forward for Australia U20’s.

So out of Blore/Howarth/Macdonald I think it comes down to Blore or Howarth & personally for the reason stated above Blore edges him for the 17 jumper.
