- Same 17 that defeated the Panthers.
- Munster is still out, not even named in the 22 man squad.
- NAS still out as well battling a hamstring injury.
- Sua named on an extended bench.
- Moeroa named on the extended bench too for the first time.

Shawn blore for the bears -

11 runs
146m gained
63 post contact metres
1 line break assist
6 tackle breaks
2 offloads

Surely he isn’t stuck behind Lewis?

You would have to hope Blore will be in first grade sooner rather than later. Get him and Nelson into the team and the forward pack looks quite alright on paper.

Injury report

After re-injuring his groin in Fiji last month, Cameron Munster may be eyeing a return to the field from Round 3. Ponissi shared that the five-eighth is close to once again pulling on the No.6 jersey, but added he may be given an extra week of rest due to Storm’s upcoming bye in Round 4.

“Given the time of the season the medical staff are being very conservative at the moment, but if he's okay for next Sunday against Newcastle, we'll play him.” Ponissi said.

Following a limited pre-season, forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona is also eyeing a return to the game-day squad. A hamstring injury has kept him off the field for the past few weeks, but since returning to full training, Asofa-Solomona will aim to run out with the Club’s Hostplus Cup feeder team, the Sunshine Coast Falcons over the weekend.

Grant Anderson, will get his first taste of footy in 2024 when he runs out for the Falcons after undergoing shoulder surgery in the off-season.

Bronson Garlick and Ammaron ‘AJ’ Gudgeon will also look to return to full training by the end of the month.

I think with the bye in round 4 we should definitely just wrap NAS and Munny in cotton wool and they can come back in round 5 fresh and fit, they are already missing the Warriors game and I think we can easily account for the Knights the week after. We have the Broncos in round 5 which is always a blockbuster, need everyone on deck for that game.

I would also like to see Blore added to the bench for Lewis this week, he was fine last week but Blore might just add that bit of X-factor. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Sua take Wisharts bench spot late in the week.

Fa’alogo, Blore and Seve cut from the squad tonight.

Wayde Egan ruled out for the Warriors also.
