How are we looking on the injury front during this pre-season, Sal? Obvisouly there is Paps and his recovery from last year. NAS is underdone thus pulled out of the Maori squad. Anyone else?

I hope someone puts their hand up for the vacant wing spot, with Nick Meaney likely to fill a gap at 1 or 6 till Paps returns .

Already a major injury to Justin Olam to start 2023! Fractured forearm. Will need an x-ray to determine the extent of the injury.

First half thoughts:
Liked Garlicks game at hooker. Then thought young Geyer offered a bit of spark from the bench replacing him. Pezet, Warbrick and Sua all had their moments. Both good and not so good. Wishart also impressive, still not sure what his best position is though.

How many times has the Fox commentary team had orgasms over Smith playing for the Chickens? It's getting very annoying now!

I think Pezet looks a bit under done. Throws so many wild passes but he looks great when he runs.

King looks great and Sua’s been unreal.

Sua was brilliant.

Disappointing that Olam injured his arm.

Oh good an injury from a pointless game. lima lima lima duck trial matches.....
That said, decent show considering the roosters put alot more of their stars on the field.

Story of the day, for mine. Easts put out their big guns in the second half, and we mostly held them at bay. By playing our kids. A lot to like from that performance IMO.

Yeah decent amount of positives form that..

Sua was class in his small number of Falcon appearances. Will CB give him a go at some point? Might be handy at 14?

Elsewhere I thought Garlic and Wishart showed their readiness for NRL level action.

Only concern is the second row replacements and how that will impact the edge defence - really not sure who will be our 11 and 12 for the year. Losing Olam for 6 weeks won’t help that

Yep good point, not sure Joe Chan or Katoa really cemented a spot. Lewis was pretty solid, but played exclusively in the middle not an edge.
