Yes, it would be the outright second longest winning streak if we win

Just confirming that as yet, the club does not know where this game is being played. Awaiting advice from the NRL. Likely Suncorp.

I always find it interesting where reports about when someone has a plan to beat us but there's never consideration that if Bellamy thinks there's an issue that he doesn't act to resolve the problem.

Because I had to watch last weeks game on tv (yeah, like everyone else) I'm guessing the game plan will be to push the off side rule and get up in our faces. Manly gave plenty of 6 agains away and I can only assume it was for offside.

They also spread the ball to the edges early and often, trying to expose our compressed defence.

It’s risky though, it only take a couple of handling errors and the game quickly becomes out of reach. Luckily for Manly, they held onto the pill. If our defence wasn’t so passive on Tom, we possibly could have forced some errors on their own tryline. Or, to be fair, we could have been burned.

Also only takes throwing the wrong pass on our left and Addo-Carr will burn them for pace. It's a risky strategy for sure

The NRL has confirmed this morning that the game this Thursday will be played at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

It appears as though the NRL is trying to give the Suncorp surface a bit of a reprieve, as only two games are scheduled to be played there (Friday night), with Sunday games being played out of Redcliffe.

Thank god for that
I was really starting to think Suncorp was going to injure someone badly
And the Falcons …our home away from home

I think craig needs to spray dean. Man why does he run towards the ball runner when there is still winger left?

Storm v Raiders: Kaufusi back from ban; Kris, Simonsson set to return
NRL.com
Mon 9 Aug 2021

Despite three wins from their past four games, the Raiders will really find out where they stand with the NRL finals a month away when they face the Storm on Thursday.

No disrespect to Canberra's recent opposition, but the Eels (round 19) were the only side ahead of them on the table. The Storm are perched right on top of the ladder and present a another jump in standards altogether.

The fact Melbourne only have a five-day turn around after a solid battle with Manly, might help Ricky Stuart's men. But Canberra will need to be a lot more threatening in attack than what they've shown recently.

The Raiders enjoyed three wins in a row over the Storm, knocking them out of the 2019 finals race. But good friend Craig Bellamy returned the favour when Melbourne beat Canberra in last year's preliminary final.

Along with the 34-10 win at GIO Stadium in May this year, that's now three defeats in a row for the Green Machine up against the men in purple.

The Rundown

Team News
Storm: Ryan Papenhuyzen is expected to be fine despite copping a knock to the knee in his third game back from his concussion lay-off. The ladder leaders welcome back Felise Kaufusi from suspension and should have Nelson Asofa-Solomona available after he missed the past two games with a hamstring injury.

George Jennings (knee) is likely to be available but Tui Kamikamica (calf) is still a couple of weeks away.

Raiders: Seb Kris (head knock) and Bailey Simonsson (toe) are both due to return in a boost for the Raiders as they face a monumental test against the NRL's hottest team.

Simonsson's return would allow Jordan Rapana to move back to the wing while Kris would slot into the centres most likely for Matt Timoko.

Key Match-Up
Josh Hodgson/Tom Starling v Brandon Smith/Harry Grant: The result could well reside in the hands of these four players and how they share the distribution duties, along with their defensive skills. Both Hodgson and Smith love dummy-half runs, and one-on-one steals. Or it could be Grant feeding the short pass to Jesse Bromwich, or Starling to Josh Papalii, close to the line which provides the match-winner.

Stat Attack
Josh Addo-Carr is second in the NRL for tries scored (21) but the Raiders have no-one in the top-20. Jordan Rapana comes in at No.21 on the list with 11 tries.

Felise Kaufusi returns for Tom Eisenhuth, who reverts to the bench.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona has also been named in the extended squad, returning from a hamstring injury.

George Jennings (PCL) is another week away.

I think if paps is gunna be our starting fullback come finals he needs to be starting from next week, I don’t think giving him his starting spot back a week before finals would be good.

He needs a few games starting leading into finals, if not I guess Craig is choosing to stick with Hynes for our quest for back to back premierships.
