Saturday 17th July
7:35pm
AAMI Park

1st vs 9th.

After 11 weeks away, we finally return home... If we don't get a massive, vocal crowd, I will be bitterly disappointed.

Will be interesting to see if any of the Origin guys are rested here. Ideally Harry and Paps return the week after this against the Cowboys in order to get a game under the belt before the Panthers clash.

Wonder what the plan will be for Paps once he's right to play. Do we bring him in slowly and play him off the bench for a few weeks?

Yeah, interesting question... By the sounds of things, Paps is partly training with the rest of the group now. Pure speculation, but I imagine he isn't doing a lot (if any) contact stuff yet and they may ease him back into that to monitor how he goes.

But yeah, going from no contact for 2 and a half months, straight back into 25+ runs per game like we usually see from him seems like a big jump. Off the bench after 25-30 mins actually sounds like a really good idea.

Yep give him his old role when he debuted and come off the bench the last 10-15 mins to start with

Tommy will be gutted to miss out on the finals after playing so well this year for us.
Assuming hynes stays in the side when paps is back which is what Bellamy has said after him playing so well this year.

This is what our full strength team will look like?

1. Paps
2. G Jennings
3. R Smith
4. J Olam
5. JAC
6. C Munster
7. J Hughes
8. J Bromwich
9. B Smith / H Grant
10. C Welch
11. F Kaufusi
12. K Bromwich
13. D Finucane

14. H Grant / B Smith
15. N Hynes / T Eisenhuth
16. NAS
17. T Kamikamica

That’s a great team.

Yeah that's our best side. I wonder how many times we will see it run out though? Hopefully 3 times in September, at least.

Makes sense, he might be a bit rusty so resting him and easing him into it would be best option. Nicho is hot shit right now and It would be a little unfair to bench him right away.

He could be the first player picked for origin and demoted at the same time

Great move. You’ll love it and more importantly you’ll wonder why you didn’t go to Storm games years ago !! Go Storm.

Aha Our family did go to one against the eels (years ago), we rocked up super early and dad started talking to a bunch of dudes in slacks and media polos (we had no clue who they were) A fan informed us when they left they were a bunch of players we were talking to and we were oblivious O0 :-D

I had something similar at the 2009 GF, was talking to this guy who actually helped me find my seat, turned out to be Steve Mortimer. Nice guy.
