Thursday 1st July
7:50pm
Sydney Cricket Ground

5th vs 1st.

I forgot about the week off for Origin 2. Sucks that I don't get my weekly fix, but at least it should give the guys a chance to rest up and hopefully recover from injury.

The week off will be especially important for Brandon given his knock and Grant's injury. Reimis and Eisenhuth have been terrific but with all due respect, are far more easily replaced.

Who schedules a game between two of the best teams 4 days after origin? A very NRL thing to do.

Aww c'mon, how could anyone know these would be two of the best teams? I'd think it's more intentional, both teams would usually be expected to have high origin representation and therefore keeps somewhat of a balance?

Geez, it must have been a few years since the Roosters averaged such a high number of points against.

I wish players didn’t push the boundaries to play origin.

Guarantee if there was no origin Harry’s first game back from the original hammy only would have been against the Roosters

I agree. But $90K is a hell of a motivator... If you get injured, that's OK - your club salary is guaranteed.

Hey if someone gave me that sort of money for ‘overtime’ I would do it in a heartbeat as well.

But there needs to be some accountability from the NRL for this type of situation

Even munster. 1 day he has apparently stood on a land mine, the next he is ripe to go for origin.

According to Justin Rodski on SEN, this game may be moved away from the SCG due to it falling in a COVID hotspot, which would prevent us returning to Melbourne.

Contingency planning underway...

I assume it just moves up the road somewhere in Sydney. Hopefully that happens and it throws the Roosters off their game a bit.

Moved to Newcastle
Not complaining. Half an hour away from me. And Marathon (or whatever they're calling it now - Macdonald Jones?) is a good ground to watch at.
Just an annoyance it's on a school night, but I'll be there anyway.
