We've been pretty spoilt for first choice fullbacks.

Jahrome was good filling in. GI was handy too.

Don't mean to sound like I'm picking on Nicho, he's been fantastic this season but his lack of urgency at the back this season is really eye opening when you've seen great fullback play for two decades. Hard not to nitpick.

imagine the Rabbitohs and Alex Johnson and what they could do to that right side.
Round 1; Storm 26 - Bunnies 18. Johnson 2 tries
Round 9; Bunnies 0 - Storm 50. Johnson 0 tries.

So our defensive system can work out there, but it's by far our weakest area of the game. Everything needs to go right.
We certainly weren't helped by the mix-and-match lineup on that side.

Surprisingly, there is some interesting data here: https://www.statsinsider.com.au/nrl/left-right which indicates we are getting better!?!

Tries conceded down Right Hand Side by Storm:
2019 - 61%, 33/54
2020 - 49%, 27/55
2021 - 43%, 13/30 up to the Titans game.

He's best suited to 6 IMO, and I believe that is where he will play at Cronulla.

Right edge defence still has SERIOUS problems. It didn't help that we had an unfamiliar combo on that side, but they continually compress too far in and then can't slide out quickly enough.
I freely admit to having not seen the game yet, but, this is an ongoing problem and starts further inside than just the two outside men. Although initially unsure in him I now think Reimis is a fantastic centre and generally makes excellent decisions and executions in defence, offensively I think he has a problem passing to his outside man sometimes. If we compress in as we do the whole team needs to work harder sliding out.

I think Dean was there for the last two tries. And Lewis was on that side as well at that stage. So it was quite makeshift.

With Jennings back from hamstring, it might work a bit better but at some stage I wouldn't mind Brenko Lee being given another shot in there because at least he can tackle. Remember Brenko played so well last year, he got into SOO 3 so he deserves a go at some stage.
As for bringing back Lee and ditching Jennings, I just don't see the point. Whether the Smith/Lee or Smith/Jennings combo is better is debatable, I don't think there's a lot in it. So, we back in the incumbent (and also the one who is not leaving us to the Broncos). Lee is backup now.

I wish we could swap our edges for one game against a top team to see what happens. Gotta be more than just the centre/wing making poor decisions on one side and not the other.

So Munster's push off with his shin/leg (or kick in the back, as reported by Fox) is judged to have been as bad as the Tigers' Tom Amone's facial with his fist & elbow and the Eels' Isaiah Papali'i's deliberate knee to the face (both while the opposition players were on their backs on the ground)... uh huh. :rolleye:

I agree. Also - I also just don't feel that Lee is a great winger? Kind of in the sense Cheyse Blair could play wing but was more of a specialist centre.
