Two kickers just aren't enough!

Orford from the left, Cam Smith from the right, Matt Geyer from front and centre with everyone to have a shot at goal by the end of the season!

Oh, and as for my thoughts, I love the idea. They both seem to be striking them well... unlike Lockyer this weekend!!!

I wonder if Steve Turner would have been kicking if he was in the starting 13, same will go for Inglis when he gets his chance.

I think it is great if it actually gives a advantage and both guys can kick in the high 80's. We need every advantage to keep our run going.

It definatly gives us a better chance if kicking more conversions, because I think you'll find that mostkickers miss most of their kicks from the wrong side.

It seems to be workng out so far. Was disapointed that Boofa didn't get a shot at goal on Saturday though.

Given that kicking can decide so many matches these days, I think it is a brilliant idea. It will boost the overall conversion rate of the Storm's tries as they are both decent kickers kicking from their prefered side. Even kicking cheergirls out of the way while they are at it ;)

The only downside from sharing it is from a person player viewpoint they will finish with fewer points each ... but oh well it's not like they will be up for the most goals/points in the season even if either was kicking from both sides ;)

Its setting up a good backup as well for the Storm, after all a large part of goalkicking is confidence, and with the two at the moment being able to focus on their strengths they will be pretty confident with their ability to kick goals, this means if one of the two gets injuried, we wont be hurt as bad, cause the other will be able to continue to be strong on their 'prefered' side as well have the confidence to hopefully convert most from their weaker side.

The only problems arise if both Orford and Smith get injuried at the same time, or one gets injuried and the other loses confidence.

Unless we have an 80%+ kicker waiting to be revealed I'm all for it. Kicking wins or loses close games. Anything we can do to improve our kicking percentage is a must.

(I'm sure you've all read my regular rants on this subject so I'll leave it at that.)

Does anyone else thing Cam has lost confidence in his kicking? He doesn't appear to be kicking as well as he was this time last year, and over the course of last season he appeared to get progressively worse, to the point where he even stopped kicking...

Last year, cam seemed to be struggling, but this year i think he has improved. I think its only 2 that he's missed??? and they were from near the side line.. thats not too bad right? Probably better than orford would have done from the same position.
