The NRL really havent done their bit.

The AFL is so agressive when trying to forge their way in to a new state. Look at the completely unfair Salary cap that Brisbane Lions get.

The really need to pressure ch nein to show games, push hard the development and even give Storm a few concessions here and here (not as unfair as what BL has, otherwise we would be unstoppable too) to promote the game.

But then, im not saying anything new. Any league fan down here realises that.

The junior game has suffered, I dont think the team I played for even exists anymore :(

That is a great read. I hope its not all "talk" and he backs it up.

Interestingly enough there was this article in today's Herald Sun

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/ ... 22,00.html

I think I might email it to Brian Waldron and suggest he reply to that story pronto! AFL and NRL CAN live side by side in Melbourne. You'd have to be stupid to think anything could ever replace AFL in Victoria and that's not what Storm is trying to do.

Great story on Tallis there. His appoinment to the NRL board had quite a few detractors among fans I know who were questioning his ability to add anything even remotely intelligent. However, from occasionaly reading his Qld newspaper column I could tell that he would provide a very different viewpoint to some of the old heads and at the same time not be afraid to speak his mind.
Anything to promote the game in Victoria and keep it from reverting to the old 2 state limitations must be beneficial for the long term survival.

Talklis has always been an absolute champion, and hopefully he can get the NRL's act together. AT least there's someone out there on the board that's fighting for us.

i have a lot of respect for tallis, hes one of the only players to keep his word during the super league / nrl battle, he missed out on a year rather than break his word.

Lets hope he can do something, as storm with there new memberships arnt helping to recuit new ppl.

i'm notsure how much of a difference Gorden Tallis could make with this staement but good on hi for saying so! Now if he could just beat the tripe out of Everywhere Eddie!

I think that now hes on the board it is good because we actually know of a board member wanting to make a difference down here! Its just a matter of whether or not the powers that be @ Channel 9 Melbounre wanna play ball or not!

Well I DID send this article to Brian Waldron and this is the reply I got:

As promised I forwarded this article to Brian (which he had read on Friday). He asked me to pass on to you that he is doing a lot of radio interviews and press at the moment explaining how we wish to coexist with the AFL not compete against it so I think we are getting the message across.

Thanks for your support!

cheers
