Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

Sunday 12th August
4:10pm
AAMI Park

Important game for our top 4 aspirations. After our forwards were utterly embarrassed last week, it is a good opportunity to bounce back and show that they have some heart/grit.

We start as favourites but after last week I don’t think that is deserved. The 10 point margin was VERY flattering.

Not a team you want to face coming off a loss.

Both our young hookers played Q cup over the weekend if that is any indication on whether they expect the captain to be out

With this being a Sunday game I don't think Grant & Brandon Smith playing on the weekend is any real indication, particularly Brandon who only seemingly played Q-Cup to get additional game time than he gets off the bench with the seniors coming back from his injury.

If we were playing Friday I may've said yes-- but a 7 day break from Q-Cup to the Sharks game is an easy enough turn around.

Back to back losses as well. I wonder when the Sharks last lost 3 in a row?

You might be right. I'm not sure they risk Brandon if the injury to Cameron was serious though.

Round 22-24, 2016.

Yeah they've lost 2 in a row so that'd make them hungry for a win, but they've also lost 4 of their last 6 which I think indicates a form slump

I hope the boys watch replays of the game at Shark Park earlier this year because that was an absolute vomit fest. The worst game of rugby league I've ever seen. They should be looking to make amends for themselves and for their fans who turned up to support them that night.

From that night;

- We didn't score a try (Two Joe Stimson Penalty Goals).
- We completed at 64%
- Made 15 Errors
- Conceded 19 Penalties
- Had 1 Line Break

Vomit fest seems a fair enough assessment. Although the penalties virtually ruined the game of any traditional RL feel. It was a joke.

This week would have to be the last straw for a couple of the forwards. That's even if they play of course.

Cronulla last week
Conceded 33 Points and 5 Line Breaks
Conceded 38 Missed Tackles
- 6 from Moylan
- 5 from Townsend
- 4 from Prior
- 4 from Sorensen

Storm last week
Conceded 30 Points and 8 Line Breaks
Conceded 37 Missed Tackles
- 5 from Munster
- 5 from Hughes
- 4 from NAS
- 4 from Smithy
- 3 from Hoffman

Both teams will be looking for much better defensive performances.
