Anyone know the status of Christian's rehab? The mail at the start of the year was that finals was a possibility, I would assume given we havent heard much since his rehab has been a touch slower than anticipated?

Purely my speculation - I don’t see him coming back until next season.

Last week (I think or could’ve been the week before) Craig Bellamy capt run press conference he was asked about Christian and he said Christian had ruled himself out from coming back this year as it to too much pressure to try and get himself right and try and play at the same time …I’m pretty sure it was before the titans game …I’ll try find it and post here nacho

Good on him I say …it was always gonna be touch and go I think it’s best to just get ready for next year and know your ready then try to do everything quick

Our backline has copped another couple of injuries:

Marion Seve is out with low grade hamstring injury and replaced by Young Tonumaipea in the centres.

Dean Ieremia injured his hamstring in Queensland Cup and is likely to miss around 2 months. (So if that is the case season over)

Unlucky for him, might have been an outside chance of being in the extended squad for Samoa at the world cup

Scans confirm grade 3 syndesmosis for Tom Eisenhuth and he will miss 6 weeks. (So unfortunately season over).

Apparently Meaney will play on with painkilling injections, it's the same injury he's been managing since that fall when he was taken out in mid air a few weeks ago.

I saw Frank Ponissi getting off the train to go to the AFL. He said Jahrome should be right to play next week.

He also said it is likely that our home final will be 5:40 Saturday but it isn't 100% confirmed yet

Lol scooter Frank would lie though his teeth to protect his player ,…Rome will be given to game day but if he is telling people he is playing straight out then I 100% believe him

Papenhuyzen out up to first EIGHT rounds as Storm reveal full extent of injury toll
https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-pr ... f6a765cfc0

The Storm have confirmed they’ll be without gun fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen for the first 6-8 rounds of the NRL season. The 24-year-old shattered his kneecap halfway through last season and then travelled to the US to rehab the injury with specialist Bill Knowles. Knowles also assisted Latrell Mitchell and Tom Trbojevic recover from hamstring injuries.

“Paps continues to work hard on his rehab program, building strength in his right leg. If he continues to progress well, it’s hoped he will return to the field around rounds 6-8,” the club said in a statement on Tuesday.
Papenhuyzen’s absence will likely see Nick Meaney play at fullback in the club’s second trial against the Warriors this week.

Melbourne star Justin Olam was injured on Sunday in their trial against the Roosters, and the club listed all their injured players alongside the Papenhuyzen update.

Justin Olam (fractured forearm)
After undergoing surgery on the arm injury he sustained in the pre-season match against the Roosters on Sunday, the PNG centre is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks.

George Jennings (knee)
A medical illness in the new year has delayed the winger’s final stages of recovery from his ACL. He should be available by round four.

Tariq Sims (calf)
A calf injury has kept the former NSW Origin forward out of the trials. He is building towards a return to full training and should be available in the early rounds of the season.

Marion Seve (knee)
A cartilage issue has prevented Marion from training with the main group and playing in pre-season. His return date is TBC.

Olam’s fractured forearm will see one of Young Tonumaipea, Grant Anderson or Meaney take over the left centre role with Reimis Smith staying in the right.

I mean none of those are a surprise …Tariq hasn’t been training with the team since before Christmas that’s why he didn’t do the IDQ camp

And paps was never gonna be back before June or at least until he was ready
