Have we had anyone play every game in the one position this year?
I don't watch any other games but I suspect the Panthers have had a very settled team this year which makes the amount of shuffling we've done, and to be second, just incredible..

Reimis Smith and Justin Olam have started every game in the centres and they're the only ones to start every game in the same position

That's amazing and that's another one about to change. Our position is incredible when the personnel changes are considered, I'll bet fans of other teams (Penrith) would never think about this.
All praise to the Club, Bellamy and the players

The injury report today on the Storm website makes no mention of Papenhuyzen. This is concerning , on top of Ryan’s social media post last week. The club said they had targeted the Roosters game for a return but it seems clear that will not be happening . There is then a 16 day break till the Knights game , and we would hope he will be back by then, but the uncertainty is troubling - mostly for Ryan himself . Recovery from concussion is way more uncertain than from a muscle injury or bone break.

Injury Update: Round 16
melbournestorm.com.au
Tue 22 Jun 2021

Football Operations Coordinator Ryan Hoffman gives us an update on our injury list heading into the Origin II bye round.

Tom Eisenhuth (dislocated elbow)
Sidelined since: Round 15

A stalwart of this injury list and someone we hoped wouldn't be named here again for a long while, Tom dislocated his elbow during Saturday night's match.

"You could see he was in a fair bit of pain, the poor guy," Hoffman said.

"He was alright once they put the elbow back in and he doesn't require surgery.

"He is getting some more scans to determine his time out."

Harry Grant (hamstring strain)
Sidelined since: Round 15

Harry also left the field during our last game with a hamstring issue.

"It's a low grade injury for Harry," Hoffman said. "We expect he will be out for 2-3 weeks."

Reimis Smith (ankle)
Sidelined since: Round 15

It was a horror night for injuries on Saturday; our third casualty was Reimis who didn't return to the field after he rolled his ankle while scoring his second try.

"He's touch and go for next week (Roosters match)," Hoff said.

"We will re-assess as we get closer."

Brandon Smith (calf)
Sidelined since: Round 15

No need to stress about this one according to Hoff and Cheese himself.

"As Brandon said after the match, there was a bit of grade three carry on," Hoffman said.

"He was taken off more as a precautionary action - he only had a calf cork."

Jesse Bromwich (elbow)
Sidelined since: Round 14

Jesse was rested in round 15 due to an ongoing elbow issue.

"He should be sweet for the Roosters game," Hoff said.

Kenny Bromwich (ribs)
Sidelined since: Round 13

Kenny hasn't played since he copped a big hit in our game against the Titans.

He had his ribs injected with a pain killer last week to see if he could play through his injury but it wasn't effective.

"We expect he will play in round 17," Hoff said.

Max King (achilles)
Sidelined since: January 2021

Max is making slow progress after a number of setbacks during his rehab (following off-season surgery). Still no expected return date yet.

Ryley Jacks (ankle)
Sidelined since: Round 14

Another player who has been in the wars this season, Jacksy injured his ankle during our ISC feeder club clash. Scans confirmed his ankle isn't broken, but he will spend another few weeks on the sidelines.

Max King living the dream. Storm roster, NRL salary, just trains and has plenty of downtime. You'd think he isn't on our list much longer by virtue of his breakdowns

One of my local team seniors did his Achilles at the same time Max did his and although he isn’t playing yet he is back running and ready to play and he is working a full time job as well so whatever Max did must have be major 🤷‍♀️

I like Max King as a player BUT he needs to get beyond his constant injuries if he wants to stay on an NRL list.

This is just a worse case scenario and I certainly hope it doesn't happen but if Paps was unable to come back, do we have any back up solutions at the Falcons or Tiges?

I'm getting increasingly worried about this as well - after letting Nicho go because he was stuck behind Paps, we could end up losing both. :pale:

So, Tyrell Fuimaono gets just 5 weeks and we still have to endure a seemingly endless stay on the sidelines for Ryan.

I don’t recall too much fallout over his actions. The game really does have a major problem with head injuries and long term health of its players.

Melbourne Storm CEO Justin Rodski revealed on Wednesday that star fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen is targeting a return from concussion in the blockbuster round 20 clash against Penrith.
