Really???? Croft is a 21 year old kid, who has been the Junior Kangaroos half for the last couple of years, and based on a handful of games we want to get rid of him? We've been spoiled with having the continuity we have had with Cronk, but to expect a transition with no impact is unrealistic for sure. What did everyone think of Cooper when he first came into first grade?? Croft will be a star, he just needs to build his confidence and get used to the speed of first grade.
Jacks is solid, and does his job - which is not a negative comment, but again, he isn't Cronk. That said, Cronk was regiment in playing to a structure... that's not what we have with Croft... which is not a bad thing to see, it's just different to what we're used to

Correction - 20 year old halfback...
agreed SS..

It is so disheartening to hear all this talk smashing Brodie.

He'll be a very good player at the minimum once he settles into FG

It's only from one poster who can't comprehend a halfback not being 100% perfect defensively.

We have a window of opportunity of maybe 2 years, maybe 3. Where the greatest player of all time and the greatest full back of all time still play for us.

Croft can sit in the background and continue to develop.

Meanwhile we need a high quality HB to play in his place for 2 years until our two all time greats leave and Croft becomes a bit more ready.

Else we are going to see the ludicrous situation of Billy Slater trying to play full back and half back; like he did on the weekend.

And play both rather poorly.

And have the GOAT feel the need to pull off; (quite literally), chicken wing tackles to slow down the play because he doesn't feel like we are defensively as good as we used to be.

I know that Jacks was HB on the weekend.

But both Jacks and Croft (at the moment) have shown vulnerabilities and are ok atm without being anything special.

Maybe they will be in time.

But with old man GOAT 1 and old man GOAT 2; we gotta play for the now!

Idiotic statement, as we have come to expect.

1. There was no chicken wing (actually literally).
2. You make a claim to know a player's intent based on nothing.
3. We are still the fourth best defensive team in the comp (only 1.9 points per game behind 1st).

Lets be the first best defensive team

We’re not doing too bad. 4th best defence, behind only the Roosters, Dragons and Tigers. 2nd best attack, behind only the Dragons. 4th on the ladder with the 2nd best for and against. Overall, considering the players we lost, I’m very happy with how we’ve gone so far. It was always gunna be tough, especially at the start of the year. The teams above us on the ladder are all exceeding expectations and will most likely drop off a bit

Not too bad; but not the Best.

And remember last year; We were "the Best" by some way.

The only team I am worried about tbh; is St George.

I think we will take everyone else easily.

The fact that we're still in a good position despite being patchy is a good sign. If we only lost one of those Tigers game we'd be looking much better after 10 weeks.

No one is doubting that.

But we are still patchy.

Agreed. However the closeness of the competition means we definitely still need to lift, particularly ahead of the Origin affected rounds. We are 4th on F/A but on the same competition points as the 8th placed Sharks.

FMD...

Three key players with no points wriggle room at all. Fingers crossed for no similar repeat of 2008.

I can't even remember the Munster/JAC ones. Were they pulled up during the game?

I can't remember either being penalised for dangerous contact.

JAC gave one away for a dangerous tackle and another for holding down.
Munster was penalised once for being inside the 10.

I assume both were picked up by the MRC only.
