As I said to Rose during the game,  if that had been Crocker or Whitey, the Cowgirls would have got at least a penalty and the player put on report! :x
yeah bunnies, i was amazed that blair didnt get on report because he brushed some dust off of a cowgirls player, usually anything the bloke does gets some negative attention

If a Storm player had've done what Thurston did then the opposition, commentators and ref would've been blowing up big time, but because it was the golden child Thurston nothing, nadda, zip, it was just 'a stray hand'.

FFS I am sick of the double standards!!!

Them filthy, rotten, NORTH QUEENSLAND buggers. They've been practising those 'fork in the eye' tackles since forever! I hear they even a specialist coach for it...
If the NRL wants to get serious about protecting the reputation of our game, i think they have no choice but to relocate North Queensland to the Central Coast.

Vote 1 Fitzgerald.

I really have to say that the only way that Boofa played at that kick from Orford was if he cracked a fat.

We do get the rest, next week , well deserved, but

I would prefer it the following weekend ,

No club will have more players involved in the Friday night Test than us you would think, plus coaches,

Then we have to back up in a monday game.

Against a Newcastle side, with no test players???
Go the Allblacks, Richmond , and the mighty Storm

Had guests for dinner last night, so couldn't go to the club to watch the game. I had live scores on the computer and kept sneaking out to have a look - but that doesn't really show anything of how the game went.

Were the boys really that undisciplined? Or - more likely - did Badger let the crowd ref the game for him?

(I have no problem at all with the crowd trying to ref, after all we all do it. That's part of what makes for home ground advantage. What I object to is refs like Badger and Archer in his younger days who blow the whistle every time the crowd yell)

Bit harsh Ice, considering how we've been playing with Billy I don't think Nacho was too far off the mark, I think you've confused him with Googly. I think Bellamy was thinking along similar lines to Nacho hence the ploy with Billy warming up on the sidelines late in the second half. With his eye injury I doubt very much that he was ever a serious contender to return to the field.
Each to their own Surandy. To tell you the truth i think it's a bit harsh and an insult to every other player in the team to imply that we're a one man side which is exactly what it does by saying it. We still won without Billy though didn't we? That's the whole point, we still won up there without having our best player this year for 3/4 of the game, so the statement of "No Billy no Storm" holds absolutely no weight at all. If it were true then we simply would've lost.  Also the fact we were on the wrong end of an 11-2 penalty count yet still won gives even less creedance to the no Billy theory as well. That's just the way i look at in anyway.

What about the Spear tackle on Croker.

"Perfect text book tackle" said the commentator.

Dunno really.

I'll take the Surandy line that I'm sick of the double standards. Even against us at OUR home ground.

Billy's eye should of been a penalty and a free interchange -  ( I don't think Thurstan ment it. Even if he DID look happy about the outcome)
The refs acceptance of the first spear tackle on Crocker was simply pathetic.

All the other "in the tackle" infringements and 10 meters I 'spose the storm are paying for a "deserved" bad reputation in that area but again i thought 11-1 (the other one was for the second spear tackle on Croker) was excessive.

No report, not even a penalty.

Beg to differ. First contact with the face, Slater upright not falling or stepping.
Head high, illegal contact and took a player out of the game. At very least that's high and careless.

Should have been a penalty and, for mine,  was worthy of the judiciary having a look.
