It's pretty stupid really, all they need to do is replace the new costume with the old. No need to wait, it can be done straight away. Unless some idiot has thrown out, or destroyed, the old costume!

Signed it  - but we need to get it out there to all Storm people. Is there any way we can do this??

BTW I took my brother in law to his first game on Sat night and I had not realised how many things we had to be embarrassed about. I love the Storm - BUT the new Storm man is a shocker, Boom is just plain weird, the cheerleaders can't dance and our theme song is useless!! And it now appears that purple is no longer purple but a weird shade of pink/lavender. He still enjoyed it though.......

He needed a new outfit that wasn't old and tatty, (the old one was pretty worn out looking) but just a new one like the old one he had. Wasn't really that hard!

Where is the summersulting opposition butt kicking scooter riding Macho Storm man we had. The new offering is Batman's mate working on a floral arrangement. Its just not the fit. :o :o :o
I think what we're seeing is the "Sensitive New Age Storm Man"

That thing (whatever it's meant to represent) is absolute crap in my opinion. He/she/it has a limp crappy thunderbolt that is in some desperate need of viagra. The costume is so cumbersome that whoever is in it, can hardly move around anywhere. The arms are stuck in the one permanent position. It comes out every home game to do the same stupid dance to the same stupid music, and makes it way about 20 metres around the fence before disappearing till the next home game.
And Storm Man and his horrible helmet head costume are nothing like the Storm Man of old. Geez - I don't think they even have a motor on his pathetic scooter anymore. And why that colour costume? It's nothing like our team colours that the boys wear out on the ground. Wouldn't it make sense to actually match the colours a bit more? I dunno - what's the world comng too? Sheesh!
And I can't say I'm a big rap for Boom either - he/she/it doesn't really walk, so much as waddle like a duck - and dance like Fat Cat. And that music that plays when he comes out, FFS! I haven't heard anything that monotonous, annoying & repetitive since I don't know when!!!  :puke:  I try in vain to drown it out by putting my iPod on and cranking it up all the way - it's the only thing I can do to take the edge off the anger & embarrassment...

I think our theme song is starting to sound a little dated. And the cheergirls could maybe do with some new outfits, maybe something like those oh-so-hot Coca Cola Zero girls, but in REAL Storm colours, i.e. navy blue/yellow/purple and a few different tunes to dance to (I know there are copyright/public broadcasting/whatever issues, but it's a bit tedious hearing the same tunes over and over and over again ad-nauseum each game). Their dancing isn't too bad IMO, but it's not as good as some other teams, particularly the Cronulla cheergirls aka "The Mermaids" - boy oh boy, do THEY know how to dance, and they look sensational too! YEEEHAA!!! :love4:

Yes, I love the Storm too - but you know what they say, a true friend will tell you what you need to hear, rather than what you want to hear...

regarding Boom - the NRL made all clubs come up with a new child oriented mascot this year I believe, so not sure what input the club would have actually had, or if this is an NRL initiative.
And as for the club song - that should not change!!!  A club song is one that becomes known and is permanent, not something to change every so often IMO

Agree SS about the club song - it may be 'dated' but it's ours and we've gotta start keeping things around for historical purposes  ;-)
Can't have tradition with new things every year now can we??

As for Boom (and the other mascots) being child orientated - that's an excuse the NRL thought up to sell more crap, my kids (and lots of others I know) HATE Boom - my son (11yrs) wants to crash tackle him and beat him up every time he see's him!!

haha - I didn't say I like Boom, or that he's good, but just not sure how much blame the club can get for that!

The club can only be blamed for ruining Storm man - that other monstrosity is from the NRL, designed by the same person who did the Sydney Olympic ones.......

Aah, who could forget that backlash, and the subsequent "people's mascot" - Fatso the Fat-Arsed Wombat.

A raspberry marshmallow is not the first image which springs to mind, no.

WWE wrestler Rey Mysterio's mask gone horribly wrong (which I already mentioned ;-) )

I can just see the half time entertainment - "And Storm man hits with the 619, goes for the pinfall, 1,2,3 *bell rings* He's got it! Here's your winner - Storm Man!" ROFLMFAO

It reminds me of one of the costumes from a Trey Parker/Matt Stone (creators of South Park) movie. I think the movie was called Orgazmo.
