This is all a bit silly - it's an unofficial poll of the members of this board. We shouldn't get too carried away... BUT... it is supposed to be a "best ever" poll, and Slater playing a handful of games at centre doesn't really justify his eligibility as one of our "best ever" centres. He was beaten fair and square at his regular spot of fullback so this shouldn't mean that we try to slot him in somewhere else, but who knows, if we run this poll in another 2-5 years (maybe "The Best of 10 Years" poll), these young guys that are just starting to establish themselves may give those pioneers a run for their money.

And it doesn't matter which way AAS goes, he's not going to be able to please everybody. Maybe a further vote for any of these controversial decisions would take the pressure/blame off AAS...

That's the thing with picking best ever positions to build a team. If you were to pick a 'best team', then you could possibly put Slater into the centres if you wanted to get him in the run on side. That would be a different thing all together

But we're not, we're picking and I quote
Best ever Storm CENTRES at Olympic Park
Slater is not center just as Kidwell and Hoffman are not centers. Now if you wanna bring in Matt Geyer, he's primarily a winger but he's a roving backline player and has played more than a handful of games in various positions so I have no problem with him being selected anywhere between 1-6. Same with Cooper Cronk, he's a playmaker that can slot anywhere between 6, 7, or 9.

I agree Thunderstruck... and that's what I was getting at. Although Kidwell has played a fair few games in the centres, including a final against Canberra

Okay, I stand corrected on Kidwell, and I wasn't arguing with you, just adding some more points to your post.
