Scott Hill stuffed us around just as much as Orford has , and he tested his worth on the open market, and got the shit bagged out of him for doing so , and when he resigned for Melbourne, every body thought he was the best thing since sliced bread..HE IS NOT and I think Melbourne play better when Hill does not play , I thought so then and I think so now , it has nothing to so with personalities , as I think Hill is basically a shy guy , but I don't think he is as valuable to Melbourne as Matt Orford. We have all, it seems resigned ourselves to the fact that Orford will leave , it will be good if he doesn't , but when he does , lets remember the possatives that he has given to the team , cause they heavily out weigh the negatives  You seem to be able to forgive HIlls "few" mistakes on the footy field , but not so Orford's

no coz i dont think a few bad passes is worthy of calling a player crap, as most hill haters do.

and people would whinge about his kicks.

unlike orford if hill doesnt turn up we can still win...if orford doesnt turn up..(which he hasnt for the majority of this year) then we are no chance because your halfback directs play and puts the team in a positon to win.
We have all, it seems resigned ourselves to the fact that Orford will leave
the club has said that, so ofcourse we are going to resign to thinking he is gone. if the club has no hope of keeping him then why should we?

and i havent forgotten hills mistakes...a few passes that got intercepted...thats not to bad but orfords piss poor effort with the boot week in week out is anoying as hell.

as far as im concerned he can take his $500,000 or whatever he wants from souths and enjoy the bottom of the table...he will soon fade out, and relise what a mistake it was to leave storm.

thats *if* he does leave.

WHEN, as Rose has said, he stuffed the club around for close to two months

KINGY wrote:and i totally disagree.....ive spoken to him a number of times and always seemed nice.

wouldnt blame him for being rude to some people...the way they carry on about him, all because a few mistakes on the footy field.
The time i'm talking about was when a supporter thought they were helping when he left his 4x4 lights on and it was bucketing down wih rain and couldn't see anyone in the car and pointed it out to him at a function....his reply "My wife is in the lima lima lima duck car if you opened your eyes".

I was 10 feet away and felt like going up to him and smacking him in the head after talking to the supporter like that. They were only trying to help the bloke......I lost all respect for him as a person and a player after that. That was three years ago and nothing from what I've seen has changed

stuffing around for 2 months, compared orfords 2 years?

well thats not good what happen that time...but everytime ive spoken to him he is nice.

so its alright for some to dislike hill for that? and because orford is going to make us lose bell and has stuffed us around for 2 years ..but thats ok :?

you're all saying orford hasnt turned up this year on a few occasions...why do we want someone who only turns up every so often?

exactly....16 good games a year isnt good enough for a "top halfback "

At the risk of being unpopular here can I just point out that it's got to be hard for Orford in the games where the Storm forwards are being dominated by bigger packs ... something I can see continuing if he goes to Souths.

Yes I'd be pissed off at him the way he's screwing the club around with contract talks and yes in many games he is not playing as well as everyone knows he can (welcome to my world ) but all of the Storm's poor performances can't be attributed soley to him.

no but poor kicking can be....poor passing can be, poor directional play can be.

sure the forwards havent been the best...but i still think orford could have done much more then he has wiht the chances he has had.

ps: noone gets unpopular...we are just talking.

Ahh, how wonderful it would be for us to have a halfback next year that could actually produce 16 good games in the one season...

THe games where our forwards have been smashed, it wouldn't matter if Ox was Joey, no platform = rushed kicks and no room to play

Gosford is out of the loop for the Bunnies... Maybe the attraction for Ox aint so shiny if the dough is close. No surf at Redfern.
