Oztips close their tippings at 7:25pm Friday, 5 minutes before kickoff of the 1st game of the week. In DST that means 6:25pm in Qld. I normally do mine by Tuesday night when the team lists have been released.

I was, only 2 weeks ago, 14th out of 68,000+ in the nrl.com tipping.

Really??? That has definitely changed then since the last time I participated in an Oztips comp - the only other comp that I'm in these days (apart from NRL Central of course ) is the NRL.com one, but I gave up on that after missing out a couple of times as they certainly close at 5:00pm DST.

I must say I am highly dissappointed LR.
After last week's installment with classic lines including "spearheading the table and speartackling all that oppose them" and one of the best Rooster conspiracy theories I have ever read (and I have read quite a few) I was looking forward to reading your game predictions once more. Not so much for the tips but more for the amusement factor.

I'll forgive you if you were too busy this week, but please don't give up on them.

After succeeding in losing department once again, Manly are looking to confirm their position as the most consistent team in the competition as they take on a Broncos side that can seal the minor premiership this afternoon. In what should be anything but a close affair, look for both teams to succeed in what they are aspiring for. One step closer to the title for the Broncos, 1 more match closer to surpassing Newcastle's losing streak. (Hey, Manly got jeleous of the Knights getting al the attention earlier in the year and are just trying to out-do them)

Roosters v Penrith
Does anyone seriously give a crap about this match-up? Both teams have done nothing all season. Both teams get nowhere this season. Both teams have nothing to play for. Both teams suporters probably couldn't care less abnout the result and are just hanging out for the 2006 season to begin. This is definitely the match that doesn't matter and that no-one gives a crap about this weekend.

I don't care to win by I couldn't give a stuff how many points. The result won't be worth the ink used to print the papers tonight.

Canberra v Tigers
Tigers are playing for a certain finish in the top 8, a top 4 position and a home final, and to extend their longest ever winning streak to 6.
Canberra are playing for their season. A loss could see them be as threatening to win the title as that other game on Sunday. You know which one I'm talking about. That one with those 2 teams that no-one could care less about for the rest of the season. A loss here would see the Raiders join that bunch of 2005 has-beens. A win could see them within striking distance of a top 8 position. On form, no-one can match the Tigers at the moment. In fact, no-one could even come close to matching them. Of course, there are 2 very important factors to consider - 1) The raiders are home with Jason Smith in the line-up. and 2) I'm biased and am just waiting for the Tigers impending demise.
