seriously these guys should wake up and realise that socialising with the members is their job.
they train for an hour or so a few days a week, get days off, play on the weekend and dont to that much that intrues into family time. theyd have plenty of family time compared to other occupations which demand more than a 9 to 5 commitment.

haha...i went to one of the training sessions and Inglis treated me like i had just killed his cat...put on a fake smile was rude and than tried the ol "pretend to talk on my phone so i dont have talk to my fans". After being told by kearnsy to jump onto the running track and talk to the players. Altho with that being said...every single other player was awesome...Cronk, Cam and White especially. Bellyache was awesome too.

If you think a working 7 days a week training and playing and travelling doesnt intrude on family life then your really need to think about it more look at their training schedule they only get 1 day off a week Nacho

haha and i was just thinking today when reading that Kemp had been relased from the Warriors what a nice possibly now cheap pick up he would be. Just think when he was in great form for the Broncos what he can bring to the table.sallymay wrote: Cooper Cronk it was a bit of a wank but what i got out of it was that

Seriously i don't fire up a whole lot if a player doesn't want to stop and have a conversation about life with me. I just think as its they probably get bothered enough without having me in there face aswell.
I know its part of there job to interact with the fans but im sure players still have bad days when they don't feel up to giving 100% to fans. Thats fair enough IMO.
Have run into the odd player or former player out during nights on the town and im just happy with a g'day or a hand shake, though im not holding it against them if they don't really wanna give every single fan the time of day 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Thanks SallyMay for your post on the Members Forum.
Are you seriously saying that we would be enough for you to not renew your membership? Sure it was a bit shabby they didn't send out a new card (though easily fixed) but there's no need to be a drama queen about it and not renew, probably not the best time to pull out with our new stadium and allSuper Cronk wrote: Also on topic of being a member, im really weighing up if i should actually re-join after this year. As for the players mingling, i know it's hard with recovery after the game etc but i still think more of an effort should be made by the club to make players more accessible to interact with fans. I'm sure most here will remember back when we started when the social club was next door to OP and all the players used to come in and have a drink/chat/drink with all the fans.
I think the club thought it was important and made a concerted effort from the start to make the players more accessible to the fans given the game was so new down here and they were trying to get a foothold and it worked well for everyone. You rarely had that sort of opportunity to mingle so closely with players from your AFL club so it was great opportunity and something different for the fans and from what i recall the players back then in the first few years looked to enjoy it pretty much as well.
Like i said i know it's harder these days with the way the game is but i think the club has dropped the ball a bit in this respect as the years have gone by and should have a closer look at it. I rarely go back to the social club these days so it doesn't really affect me either way but im sure there's plenty of people who do and would like the opportunity to have a chat with the players.
That was good...Ice wrote: I'm sure most here will remember back when we started when the social club was next door to OP and all the players used to come in and have a drink/chat/drink with all the fans.
Although I had to put up with my ex and how nice it was to hug Danny Williams for about 2 weeks after one game "Oh he's so muscley" blah blah shuddup!
Even Rodney Howe turned up after he was suspended for the drug thing from memory.

I didn't go this year as I really couldn't be bothered. Same old topics, same old questions, same old excuses/fob offs.
I preferred to sleep in a little later and to watch our Under 20's rip it up.
Premium memberships up 10% this season, how much will they rise next year? My financial position isn't getting any better and the value for money of premium memberships has been declining so I'll find it hard to afford/justify taking out the same level again next year.

Try the resereved seat membership package - just as good as the premium membership.Surandy wrote: Premium memberships up 10% this season, how much will they rise next year? I upgraded from a GA membership to RS 2 years ago....great value. I just hope they retain it for the new stadium.

I usually go to the social club after games and find the players give a fair bit of their time in socialising with supporters.
Those that come later after recovery, e.g. this week, Billy, Cam, etc. signed autographs, did pics with supporters etc.
Really don't understand why some supporters are complaining tbh.
