Go the Allblacks, Richmond , and the mighty Storm
Sounds like him might sign with us now...
Former Bulldog Reni Maitua to make decision on new club soon
By James Phelps | January 02, 2009 12:00am
AXED Bulldog Reni Maitua is expected to decide on his future in the next few days.
The former Test lock has been weighing up his options with four clubs - North Queensland, Melbourne, Cronulla and South Sydney - in the hunt for his signature.
"He is thinking about whether or not to leave Sydney," his manager Sam Ayoub said. "It is a lifestyle choice and he has to work out where he will play his best football."
It is understood the offers from all four clubs are of similar cash value.
But the chance to play under NSW coach Craig Bellamy at premiership powerhouse the Storm may prove irresistible for Maitua, who will be looking to re-establish his representative career this year.

Im still trying to get over the quote about "shopping around Steve Turner". Why? Where did this come from, was it an assumption from the journalist writing the story or from the club. Steve's been a great asset to the Storm and I hope he continues with the Storm and we see him in more rep games.

The TITANS floated this to the paper late last year and Searle has said it 4 times since in the media. (think that says something IMO)pauliedude wrote: Im still trying to get over the quote about "shopping around Steve Turner". Why? Where did this come from,
On Maitua, I remember people saying they didn't want Crocker down here as well.....oh well, we'll never know now.

I think the Titans don't particularly like the Storm and are more than willing to make sure we get some bad publicity if they can help it along!Stormwarning[c] wrote:The TITANS floated this to the paper late last year and Searle has said it 4 times since in the media. I would have liked Maitua at the club but his was only willing to sign a 1 year deal, then I would be sure he would be chasing big dollars in England, so we are probably better off without him.
