Former Storm forward Matthew Bartlett will replace O'Donnell against Melbourne.

Storm trained in Townsville yesterday with Dallas Johnson still battling an ankle injury. Sam Tagataese is on standby.

Johnson completed only the warm-up but is still considered a chance to start at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

Meanwhile, Melbourne forward Sika Manu could be back by Round 9 despite suffering an avulsion fracture of his ankle in Monday night's 23-16 win against Canberra. The injury was treated the same as a ligament strain.

At 7.30, North Queensland takes on Melbourne, this should be a cracker in Townsville.

The Cowboys appear to be really hitting their straps with three wins on the trot. Melbourne are coming off a tough Monday night win in Canberra,
so a tough week for the Storm. I’m tipping an upset, North Queensland to win.

A joke right  ???
Played in Townsville with a short turn around for a Storm team carrying injuries & this peanut considers a Cowboys win "an upset"  :?

pfft...no excuses, lets not use the short turn around or injuries if we do lose. the only way we will lose is if the boys dont go and put 110% in. and if they dont do that, then we deserve to lose.

I'm hoping for a try-fest like last year however I can't see that repeating - Storm by 3 converted tries

Considering the home ground advantage, form, and the short preparation for us,

It should at least be even money, but the TAB has us as favourite as well.
Go the Allblacks, Richmond , and the mighty Storm

The sort turn-around is bullshit.

It was never mentioned when you played a Sunday - Friday game.

I really have to say that the only way that Boofa played at that kick from Orford was if he cracked a fat.

I don't have a problem with the short turn around, since bellyache negated most of it by going direct to FNQ.
I just thought it was a joke that Storm should be seen as outright favourites in what I see as a VERY tough game  :?

I'm surprised we are as pronounced favourites as we are, but that is the price you pay when the bookies would have been burnt the last couple of years by us.  And, the Cowboys in all reality haven't beaten anyone this year other than the Warriors, and they are the biggest non travellers getting around

The young blokes are doing well, after 57 minutes the Storm are 32 vs the last placed Cowboys on 14. Foran is having a great time with his goal kicking, 5 tries converted and a penalty. I presume he has kicked 6 from 6 judging on that.

A win will temporarily put Storm into 6th place. We were 10th after Round 6.

Storm 36 vs Cowboys 18

Try scorers for Storm: Fanene, Kelly, Faingaa, Proctor, Tahwa, Tomane, goals: Foran: 5 convesrions & 1 penalty.

Injury Report: Billy has a cut under his eye due to a Thurston claw.  Hopefully he is back after HT.
