Agreed. Bennett needs to zip it.glennb wrote:Well said Phillip Island Storm, I was thinking the same thing. Bennett loves Milford and Boyd and guess what, they at playing origin in the positons they like. When Mal Meninga was Queensland coach he should up tp Bennett, like he is doing with the Australian team, and now they do not talk. But it was a bit easier for Mal as Bennett was not the coach of the Broncos for a lot of his time as Maroons coach.
Milford hates it when someone hits him hard or roughs him up a little bit. NSW are going to hit him all night, he is not for origin.
Bennett is the biggest f*cking hypocrite and sook in the game. Only a few weeks ago he flew all those blokes from England out for the Test match only for them to sit in the stands, not selected in the final 17. It's only an issue when it affects Wayne...

My sentiments exactly. That backline has the perfect combination of experience and youthful x factor.Deadpool wrote:Slater should be fullback. So disappointed they went with Boyd instead. Valentine Holmes should be on the wing. Oates and O'Niell shouldn't be there. The backline should be
1. Slater
2. Boyd
3. Chambers
4. Gagai
5. Holmes
So ultimately they are saying that Justin O'Neil is a better fit for Queensland than Slater.
And that's fair enough too. It's not as if Slater has ever played with that spine; who knows how the combination Smith, Cronk, Thurston, Slater will go...oh, wait...

We must all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately

So now foxsports are saying that the reason for why Billy was not chosen was there where stats that he'd not engaged in 21 tackles leading them to believe that he was protecting his shoulder. It would lead me then to think that if that's the reason to dump him then Billy wont ever play origin again. Numbers without context. WTF!

2 players from my beloved St Helens team were flown thousand of miles to sit in the stand. Missed an important SL game. Arrogant double standard applying to$$er

It serves the three Broncos ( Qld ) selectors right for blindly sticking to their loyalty to the Broncos players. Boyd was nowhere in that game. It was his game to shine and he did nothing, he sat back and watched it all unfold in front of him. The so-called best fullback in the game was a dud. Now can we please bring on the best fullback to have ever played the game.

What a great game to watch on TV. And the post game summaries and analysis were great.... Oh, wait a minute, Channel Nine switched the game off 30 seconds after the final whistle. Up yours all Victorian based rugby league fans; you're not worthy of the opportunity to see such things. Thanks for nothing Channel Nine.
Rumor is that Walters wanted Slater at fullback in origin one, but was out voted by Miles and Lockyer. Story is Boyd went to Bennett said he would prefer to play fullback, then Bennett told Miles and Lockyer as he no longer talks to Walters. So Bennett does it again. Queensland need to stop listening to Bennett, they won for years because Mal did not care what Bennett said. They will not win with Bennett pulling the strings and Bennett will not get blamed.
