According to todays Herald Sun it's not a forgone conclusion that we'll lose Crossy there's still some hope we'll be able to hold onto him. I'm not sure what the hold up on Brett White signing is, if they need a pen to sign his name i'll be more than happy to give them mine
Despite agreeing to terms with Melbourne for a new three-year contract before Origin 1, White, 25, is yet to put pen to paper with the club -- a situation that is starting to frustrate him. "It's unfortunate that I haven't signed it yet," he said. "I'm obviously going to stay. It's just not signed yet."
However, White's front-row partner, Ben Cross, is not as convinced he will stay, after fielding an offer from a rival NRL club. He is waiting for a counter offer from the Storm to arrive "this week or early next week at the latest" before making a decision. "Melbourne is definitely my first preference," Cross said. "To the best of my knowledge the other clubs know that. "With a baby on the way I would much rather stay here, but that's not to say I won't move if I have to."

YAY!! That is brilliant news. I sometimes wonder at our admin, things just take a little long for my liking - and the lack of pens may be a problem

White with Storm until 2010
by Dave Donaghy

MELBOURNE Storm prop Brett White said he flirted with the idea of moving back to Sydney before finalising a new three-year-deal that will keep him with the premiership favourites until 2010.
White, 25, said he seriously considered a return to Sydney to be closer to his daughter, but decided not to shift back in a bid to further his fledgling career under Craig Bellamy.
After agreeing to terms with Storm while in camp with New South Wales, the Cooma junior finally put pen to paper yesterday -- ending a frustrating two-week wait for the arrival of the paperwork.
"It wasn't an easy choice," he said.
"With a long-term contract it never is an easy choice. I had to do what was best for my career at the moment and that was to stay under Craig here.
"I went through ups and downs. At times I was certainly considering it and I came very close to going down that road. Then at (other) times I realised it was the wrong thing to do."
After arriving in Melbourne without a first-grade game under his belt, White has blossomed into one of the competition's premier props.
His transformation was recognised by his call-up by New South Wales for the State-of-Origin series opener.
