But a city of 3.75 million people can't fill a stadium with a capacity of 18 K. ::)
That tells me we've either got a crap product or shite marketing.

And I reckon it's a pretty good product......
Pretty good?!? I reckon it's a bloody excellent product. And as I've said before the main problems with it are the marketing of the product, I have always maintained our two biggest problems with marketing our product in Melbourne is that OP is a shit stadium to view a rugby league match, from going to interstate matches I find it's much better to watch when you are up close, the other problem is media.

Fortunately the new stadium will definitely fix the problem with the stadium side of things, and hopefully with Nein losing the AFL rights they will return to promoting RL better like they did in 2002 and before. So in my view things will be a lot better from 2008 onwards.

I know the Storm aren't doing a great deal in marketing right now in Victoria but be realistic, it's cricket season, there's tennis on (although that would've been good for some cross promotion work), the Commonwealth Games are coming up. Storm don't play their first home game until late April, that's three months away. If I was the Storm media and marketing people I'd look to start the push in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games and ramp it up leading into the first home game.

It would of been an excellent oppotunity, surely there is someone on the mens and womens circuit who has a profile and is clothed by Reebok, which they could of put in Melbourne Storm jerseys.
