No Major Sponsor
Easy done.Surandy wrote: My main concern at this early stage is where I'll be able to watch the games in Round 2 and 3 as they coincide with the Melbourne Commonwealth Games. Round 2 is especially important to me as I'll be at the MCG from about 9am til early afternoon. MCG events finish at 2pm and Storm game kicks off at 2:30pm.
IIRC, the MCG is just over 2km walk from the Rising Sun.
The average man walks at approximately 5 km/h.
So you should be just about sitting down with a refreshing beverage in the Bistro at kick off time.
[sung to the tune of House of the Rising Sun]
There is a pub in Burnley Town
It's called the Rising Sun
It's half an hour from the'G
Or quicker if you run

So does that mean the 2006 jersey will appear clean skin?
It's good the big red square is not clashing with the jersey but I do hope we can get a sponser on board, even if it's "Al's Fish & Chips" down the road

I'm aware of the Rising Sun Hotel as you should well know TC. Question is will they show the Storm game with all the hoopla over the Commonwealth Games? As for getting to the pub in time for kickoff, there'll be something like 70k or so people leaving the MCG so I don't think I'll be getting out of there in a matter of minutes (I won't really know til I see an exact schedule of events as to what time I will be prepared to leave at).TC wrote:Easy done.Surandy wrote: My main concern at this early stage is where I'll be able to watch the games in Round 2 and 3 as they coincide with the Melbourne Commonwealth Games. A "clean" jersey... oh what joy!
Never has our jersey looked as good back in the day with just Honda on the sleeve (or absolutely sponsor free.... those were the days )
I'm sure a sponsor or two will come aboard, we still get reasonable exposure in two states of Australia when we play on either Channel Nine (I'm laughing as I type that ) or on Fox Sports. As long as their logos aren't too big and don't clash with our home jersey and the t-shirt we wear away sometimes.

http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,86 ... 14,00.htmlStorm CEO Brian Waldron said competition from the AFL and a lack of mainstream coverage in Melbourne prompted the decision to "split" the Storm's jersey.
"We've split our major (sponsor), we're going with three key commercial partners rather than just the one," Waldron said.
"It's a matter of leveraging the opportunities by splitting the number of branding opportunities on your apparel.
"From a yield perspective we'll be better off financially splitting this than going with one traditional partner.
"We've got two-thirds of it well and truly down the path of it being secured and there will be one last spot still available and we have a number of strong leads with that too.
"We have been very happy with the response we've got. It's far easier for people to spend money on the basis we are talking than a massive one-off major," he said.

I think Max might mind though.
