Official thread and signing news
Melbourne half Jonah Pezet has won early bragging rights over Storm teammate Ryan Papenhuyzen following the opening round of the Victorian PGA championship at Moonah Links.
Pezet, playing with NSW pro Jye Picken in the first round of the teams tournament, shot nine under to be within touching distance of the lead.
Papenhuyzen was three shots further back as he and teammate Harry Goakes finished the opening round in the middle of the pack.
Pezet is locked in delicate contact talks with the Storm but it clearly didn’t affect his concentration as he and Picken gave themselves a shot at taking out the title, which will be decided over four days culminating in the final round on Sunday.
The talented playmaker is expected to meet Storm powerbrokers over the weekend to discuss his contract, which expires at the end of next season.

If Reece Robson doesn’t spell the end of Brandon Smiths time at the Roosters, what does…
If Brandon was smart he would be doing everything possible to get back into the Storm system. He can still be a great player but not really sure there is another club out there that will get the best out of him.
I doubt even post Craig. I think Brandon has well and truly burned that bridge.

You'd have to find two spots on the roster, one for hime and one for the baggage he would bring with him

It’s a shame for him that it looks like he won’t complete his dream of winning a premiership for that club - a dream that has burned in his mind since his meeting with Robbo. A dream he decided on before having the decency to give the Storm a final pitch to retain him.

Yep. He really didn’t handle the situation in a particularly edifying manner given how well Craig and the Club had looked after him throughout his career and the stupid indiscretion he commited.Shuttlesworth99 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 10:18 pm It’s a shame for him that it looks like he won’t complete his dream of winning a premiership for that club - a dream that has burned in his mind since his meeting with Robbo. It has been announced he signed until the end of 2026. There a story in the daily telegraph and it states why he signed for another year only and for less money. But the rumour going around is after that he will sign with the Eels to be with Ryles. He can't sign now becasue of the Storm/Ryles agreement not to talk to any Storm palyers until the end of 2025. We will have to wait and see.
