Cold, wet and miserable day that was. Bastards even made me put my umbrella down... >:D
Can't remember the weather...the only drops I recall falling were Mundane's tears. That was a great game for all kinds of reasons - it was the week after that game that Mundane walked out of the Dragons to follow his dream. Nothing to do with being humiliated of course.

Clock ticking on Finucane fitness
melbournestorm.com.au
Thu 3 May 2018

Dale Finucane has until Saturday to convince the coaching staff is ready to make the trip to Kogarah.

The Storm hard man has been named in the side to return from a broken thumb to take on the top of the table Dragons this Sunday.

However before he boards the plan, he has several boxes still to tick before he is given the final green light.

"(Dale) just needs to show he is comfortable catching the ball, carrying the ball and probably more importantly he can make his tackles," Craig Bellamy said.

"He has done all the right things which is a credit to him and has gone all the steps with our medical staff.

"He had surgery there and had a pin inserted into his thumb. He probably would have played two-three weeks ago if it had of been up to him."

Suliasi Vunivalu (thumb) and Curtis Scott (ankle) remain under similar injury clouds and will also be given until the weekend to prove their fitness.

"We are not playing until Sunday, not sure how much of the session they'll do today," Bellamy said.

"We've got Captain's Run on Saturday so it might be up until then that we give them."

I think he will play. The injuries to Glasby and Bromwich will add pressure to do so as well.

NAS, Kas, Welch and K Brom all likely to see a bump in minutes. If Finucane does play, they may not want to use him for his full usual stint. That, plus risk of re-injury adds yet more weight to carrying the extra prop on the bench.

Scott out officially. Young with a hamstring injury (3-4 weeks). Olam possible debut.

Saw Munster was in doubt yesterday too.

Best of luck to Olam. Playing for some other club, he probably would have debuted earlier. Just stuck behind some quality outside backs at the Storm.

Hopefully he aims up in defence. Anything on top of making his tackles/right decisions, is a bonus.

Slightly pedantic point here but, the club's website keeps saying that Olam will be the second PNG player to play for the Storm, will actually be the third. Bai from 1998-2003 and John Wilshere in 1998 were 1 and 2. I know he only played one game but it's surely not that hard to find him when Olam will only be the 187th player.
