The Jerseys, Merchandise and Sponsorship Thread
That's the best thing about teams changing jersey designs or manufacturers every year, you can always get everything cheap at the end of the year. I always get my merc this way. Screw paying full price when it's 60% off 6 months later
I always like to be current and every year there's some kind of change. I collect jerseys anyway so it doesn't really bother me too much. The last time we had the exact same jersey design with the same sponsors (at retail at least) for more than a season was 2011-12. 2013 it changed to that awkward navy mess, in 2014 KooGa rebranded to BLK and changed the template (and none of the retail jerseys had Crown Resorts on them), 2015 it changed to the split design with silver stripe and now we're with Star in 2016. ISC will likely do something different - be it a modification of the current design or something different completely (there's rules in place to stop clubs from changing jersey designs every year - although there seems to be a loophole for a change in apparel partner).
I'd like to see the Star design stay - but with a more vibrant purple. Our jersey often looks washed out unless under certain lighting conditions. Keep in mind that in 2018 the club is celebrating 20 years. Perhaps keep the current design for 2017 and come out with something a bit more heritage inspired in 2018.

It's funny because the club often refers to the "purple jersey", the "men in purple", the "purple wall", etc. and yet our jersey is mostly navy.blazza18 wrote:I hope the away jersey design stays the same with ISC, it's easily been one of our best jerseys.
The home jersey needs to be purple fullstop. Purple needs to become the dominate colour.
I'd be all for an all-purple jersey. Swapping the purple and navy on the current design might be a way to go as well.
No more black off-field gear while we're at it, please.
I agree regarding getting bargains at the end of the year. At the end of last year our family bought $480 of merchandise (RRP) for $180.
Very disappointing that Star was only on board for one season. ISC is being mentioned on here is there a rumour that we are signing with ISC, is it because of an NRL deal with ISC or is it just someone's wishful thinking?

Nope. It'll be next year. The ten years was 2007 and that white jersey they wore for the trials in 2012 had "celebrating 15 years" embroided on it.absentee wrote: Keep in mind that in 2018 the club is celebrating 20 years. It's a weird thing. Penrith and Cronulla came in to the comp in the same year but the former observes the 50th anniversary this year and the latter next year.
I asked Dave Donaghy when he was taking questions on Facebook. It'll be 2018.LESStar58 wrote:Nope. It'll be next year. I'll look at getting an away jersey for the collection.NevilleB wrote:That's the best thing about teams changing jersey designs or manufacturers every year, you can always get everything cheap at the end of the year. That's a bit odd given the history that the club has already acknowledged.absentee wrote:I asked Dave Donaghy when he was taking questions on Facebook. It'll be 2018.LESStar58 wrote:Nope. Some 2017 ISC gear has popped up on eBay: http://stores.ebay.com.au/savvysupporte ... mit=Submit

Well of course I'm going to be discussing it!
I was hoping the purple on the home jersey would be a bit more vibrant - but it's just a render so I guess we'll see how it turns out. A little strange how ISC are mimicking the Star jersey by adding thin purple strips on the shoulders. I figured that was a Star thing since almost all their gear (Collingwood too) had that.
The Nines jersey looks nice but surely the Crown Resorts logo is a mistake by ISC since NZ has regulations against off-shore gambling and casinos. Considering there's a SpotJobs logo on one of the polo renders I'd say they're not 100% accurate.
Looks like Metsal is out as a sponsor. They're not on the shorts on the link above (replaced by Hostplus) and their logo is gone from the club website.
I would have preferred some of ISC's other templates for off-field gear but I suppose what we have for 2017 is fine. At least it's navy and not black!
