Most Exciting Storm Winger Ever?
Funnily enough (yes I know they play different positions) but Koroibete after just 26 games went past the try scoring tallies of both Robbie Kearns (18 tries from 169 games)and Ryan Hinchcliffe (19 tries from 168 games) on Friday night.
Wasn't Koro's best game on Friday night but he wasn't exactly helped... All night Naiqama was getting outside of Harris and Fonua. As a winger, you are in an awkard position then. You have to make a decision to either come in and shut the opposing centre down before he breaks the line, or stay on your man on the wing. Every coach would expect the winger to come in and make the tackle. The opposing centre may pass to his unmarked winger, but as a defensive unit, better to force a pass than let a guy waltz through the line. It becomes a bit of a grey area when you start to question whether the cover defence can get across in time.
Point is, Koro was always going to be in two minds when he had to defend one and a half positions.

He hasn't got a leap to write home about but when attacking kicks go across you feel like he's going to steam onto that ball like he's running from the cops!
We need a good centre inside him badly.
His highlights reel in a Storm jersey is already impressive.

I'm with Bula re the centre next to Marika issue. Marika's attack is first class but his defense is still a work in progress and really needs a defence minded centre from somewhere. Is there one in the bolt's or do we have to look elsewhere?bula wrote:He hasn't got a leap to write home about but when attacking kicks go across you feel like he's going to steam onto that ball like he's running from the cops!

Perhaps an experienced type from a qid or nsw cup side is the answer. Not sure who's out there as such, but somebody a la brett anderson - preferably about 5 yrs younger though - may be able to teach and feed him ball for a year or two.
