I'm so happy for Chambers, after he came back from his failed attempt to turn into a Wallaby and his brush with serious illness, he was a must sign and I'm glad it's long term. His game against the Warriors last week was by far the best of his career and not only is he the defensive specialist we have known him to be, but his ball running skills were nothing short of outstanding.
I'm also glad we have kept a player that plays in a double position for a long term deal (the double positions being wing, centre, prop and second row). Normally they are disposable, transfer from club to club and are most of the time are easy to replace, but Will is different to that rule. I reckon Will is going to be in the team of 20 years when it is announced in 2017 (the year he comes off contract). Congratulations Will on your new contract, you will certainly go down as a Melbourne Storm legend.

Much like Chambers was though, O'Neill is locked up until the end of 2014. Chambers earned himself a contract upgrade I imagine to avoid allowing his true market value to be tested (unless 2014 was just an option?). Upgraded contracts would not be common though.LESStar58 wrote:O'Neill is the next priority signing, surely...
Waqa is off contract at the end of this year. He would have to be a priority. It would be great to sure up that right side for the long term.

Does O'Neill have a get out clause in his contract though?

Waqa would be a great re-signing and it would be excellent if we could keep him, but we simply can't keep everyone in the squad. Waqa would certainly be in for a pay rise for his next contract due to his outstanding form since the back half of last season. While it would be disappointing if he left, I could understand his decision if he were to leave if he wanted to advance his career elsewhere.yourhero wrote: Waqa is off contract at the end of this year. Waqa is an absolute priority!!! He has the safest hands in the business and is as tough as nails. He's made some match winning plays too both in attack and defence.mattstormy wrote:Waqa would be a great re-signing and it would be excellent if we could keep him, but we simply can't keep everyone in the squad. Just keeps getting better. I'd pick him ahead of Duffy and Fonua

Actually, after the way the team played against the Raiders, Sisa was the only one who showed any promise in attack and defence and was our best player. In fact, I take back what I said about him above, we simply can't let him go to another club. He is an absolute priority signing and it must be made soon.
