Is that official because I think the Stadium has to be 40k minimum for QF's.tugga wrote:ABsolutely embarrassing crowd yesterday. I was in aisle 26 and surrounded mainly by Knights fans down for a long weekend. They were pretty good blokes, except for a few screaming banshee women who made it annoying in the last 15 minutes.
All in all a good day for us, but the crowd was a major disappointment.
We'll play at AAMI if it's the Tigers and Etihad if it's the Warriors.
Yup. Members email this morning said it will be at either stadium depending on who our opponent is. But I am presuming that the bigger stadium will be for the Warriors match and the smaller one would be for the Tigers.Michael :P wrote:Is that official because I think the Stadium has to be 40k minimum for QF's.tugga wrote:ABsolutely embarrassing crowd yesterday. Id like to see a area specially for Familys with kids.. i think that would be great..
When i go to the games at times with other family members who have a few kids, its never good when you got
ppl screaming out the F word around you..
I never use the F or c word at games. I think you can cheer without swearing yes even at the refs.I am always mindful of children or older people at games sitting near me. BUT I STILL BARRACK LOUDLY & PROUDLY.

It seems although the Daily Telegraph's anti Storm brigade thought us feral.

There were some mitigating circumstances for yesterday's poor attendance. The sell-out Carlton-Essendon match at the nearby MCG meant parking was limited. A rare live telecast of the Storm game in Melbourne probably also prompted some to stay at home.
However, given the AFL drew 270,145 for its first four finals all played in heartland Melbourne, and the NRL a combined 123,391 (surprisingly a first-week record), perhaps reports the NRL had won the ''battle of the codes'' based on pay-TV ratings, and an as yet unachieved new TV-rights deal, should be considered premature.

He is correct, each time he has been to Melbourne he has been booed by the crowd. Although as you point out this was the first time since the salary cap crap.steaming stormer wrote:The thing the Sydney media forgets, is that's the first time Gallop has come down, if he'd done it last year, it would have been over and done with. That tool Rothfield wrote that we do it time and again... it's the first time that he has come to Melbourne since it happened.
What shits me about those north of the border is that they have no comprehension of why we hate Gallop so much. Many of them have little idea of how bad the TV coverage is down here due to the crap deal that Gallop signed off on. Then there are inconsistent knee jerk reactions to things like Cam's suspension during the finals, the salary cap crap, etc.
AND the total NON support of our team by giddyup. He should have called a meeting with the coach and players and told them before he announced it to the world.HE SHOWED THEM NO RESPECT so how could he expect any from us.
Wasn`t seagulls thinking of hiring extra security when giddyup was going to make an appearance there the other week.(no big deal made of that).
I don`t want Ron Gauci including me in the apology to giddyup.i even sent an emails to giddyup to let him know that.

Same here. If Ron Gauci apologises to Gallop it just supports my view that Gauci is nothing but another News Ltd puppet. An apology from one puppet to another.stormy wrote:I don`t want Ron Gauci including me in the apology to giddyup.i even sent an emails to giddyup to let him know that.

From what I have seen, he comes across as a decent administrator. Just because he is a News Limited appointee doesn't mean he is not competent & wanting to improve the situation the club finds itself in.bula wrote:Ok so are we gonna have our version of "oust doust"?
Maybe, "outey gouci"? Ok thats just terrible

But writing a letter to apologise for the actions of a great majority of our supporters is the ultimate insult to us as members & supporters. Is he there to represent US, or just the half-owners of the NRL?

It would not surprise me if we get a blanket email saying that our treatment to Giddy Up was "disappointing", "not in the spirit of the club" and "need to show respect". I will make sure I will file it away with the Cheap Canadian Pharmacy, Western Union and Discount Viagra spam
So now Gutless is comparing us to terrorists. Does this man have any spine?

Is he serious? Terrorists? If we were like terrorists he'd be long dead by now.
Has he criticised the Newcastle players for talking throughout the minute silence in memory of those that died in the 9/11 attacks?
This response by Gallop clearly demonstrates that he is not worthy of being the NRL CEO, he MUST go.

So Gallop can't cop some deserved booing, then comes back with a response comparing us to terrorists...that is just plain dumb and very insulting.
