I'd agree with that, except I reckon that Hinchy deserves a start at lock. He's been playing good footy for the majority of the year.

It will all come down to pre season. The 3 young guns in Widdop, Kelly and Chisholm will battle it out. Mind u if we snare Maurice Blair then he will take the 6.hughzy wrote: yea agree. who do u rekon will secure 5/8 wif got a few options there?
Also if we get Reni Maitua imagine a starting second row of
11. Sika Manu
12. Adam Blair
13. Reni Maitua
Now that would be a sight!
Chisholm absolutely smashes Widdop. Chisholm is top 3 fastest at the club (Includes NYC,NRL and NSW players)hughzy wrote: yea forgot about reni.1 question who's faster out of widdop n chishom cause apparently chishom is really quick?
It will be Widdop, they have already committed to running him at 5/8Freshy wrote:It will all come down to pre season. The 3 young guns in Widdop, Kelly and Chisholm will battle it out. They brought him up because Widdop was still injured.hughzy wrote: they brang kelly up for the sharks game yesterday n he done good defence and had a good kicking game i think he may replace finch next year unless we sign maurice blair.

Is it all about speed playing 5/8th i would say its more about dictating play and reading the opposition.
Chisholms defence, attitude and size are the main reasons widdops been given the nod for 5/8 next year, not to mention widdop isnt exactly a slouch or a far inferior attacking player either. The pecking order to partner cronk in the halves in 2011 goes:
1. Widdop
2. Kelly
3. Kostjasyn
4. Smith
5. Hinchy
6. Chisholm
With a fully fit squad I'd expect to see something like this from bellyache in round 1 next year:
1. Billy Slater
2. Matt Duffie
3. Chase Stanley
4. Dane Nielsen
5. Anthony Quinn
6. Gareth Widdop
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Bryan Norrie
9. Cameron Smith (c)
10. Adam Blair
11. Sika Manu
12. Kevin Proctor
13. Ryan Hinchcliffe
14. Todd Lowrie
15. Stan Waqa
16. Jesse Bromwich
17. Rory Kostjasyn
Personally i'd go:
1. Billy Slater
2. Matt Duffie
3. Justin O'Neill
4. Dane Nielsen
5. Anthony Quinn
6. Gareth Widdop
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Bryan Norrie
9. Cameron Smith (c)
10. Adam Blair
11. Sika Manu
12. Atelea Vea
13. Kevin Proctor
14. Ryan Hinchcliffe
15. Sione Kite
16. Jesse Bromwich
17. Chase Stanley (Impact wide running back rower)
1. Widdop
2. Kelly
3. Kostjasyn
4. Smith
5. Hinchy
6. Chisholm

Actually bit miffed about BG comment that theyve "committed" to Gareth. Hopefully that just means all things being equal, as dont want him to get complacent, competition is good.
