Tonight on the Footy show.  They said lots of teams cheat the cap, because they have to.  It costs money to be succussful and every team wants to win.

absolutely....full financial audit of every team immediately.

No matter what the cost...should be done as a matter of course given that there is a lot pigsh$t flying around from every other club

If one of the highest profile clubs in the league (us) have been able to hide all of this from the NRL, who's to say that other clubs aren't guilty of doing the same thing?  Whether or not you think the penalties we've received are fair/unfair, it would be really unfair if the NRL didn't look at everyone else, too.

Go to the NRL website there is a list of salary caps infringements over the last few years.  Brisbane seened to be named a lot maybe they were over in 2006.

Yep, theres Salary Cap over-sights and theres straight out Enron style cheating.

Out of curiousity has there ever been a year we weren't over the salary cap?

There are a number of clubs who are constantly over the salary cap...not just us

something that might make you laugh is i am a cowboys fan and when we were done in 2000 or 2001 (forget now)we still won the bloody spoon so it didnt do us much good haha

I'm not sure if every club does it but after today I believe at least a few (or maybe even
more than a few) have got to be rorting the cap in some way. I never thought the club
I supported would ever have deliberately cheated the cap and look what has happened.
Supporters of other clubs would be naive to think their club is squeaky clean... not that
it makes it right.

so it's ok to cheat if it's just small amounts over a few occassions or if it's some sort of over sights that allows a club to cheat.

with respect that is crap...it's either cheating or it's not.

you could be almost certain that every club has benefitted from being over their salary cap at some stage.

there should be no gradation of cheating....your either in ...or your'e out

the extent that the storm was cheating was more then any other club though and the way they went about hiding it in a seperate book and hidden in a different room would have been a factor in the nrl deciding its penelty.

also they were probably p!ssed off it took them so long to catch the storm so they would have had a bee in there bonnet about that.
