I'd like to know how many players have worn the number 7 jersey for Melbourne Storm?
Can you name them?

I will give it ago- I think all these have played in the #7 and I am sure I have forgotten some.

Noddy
Geyer
Ox
Cam Smith
Turner
Bradd Watts.

Please add or take off names.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure Geyer never played half back for Storm, he's played every other back position though.

Turner? Yep, Marty.

I don't think MG ever did.

There's another one too.

Kevin Carmichel, and threw a winning short pass to Robbo to beat the Broncos in 2000!

At Parra very early in the season? I thought that was Marty Turner?

I stand to be corrected though.

Marty wore the 7 then. The game before his accident I believe.

Geyer has played halfback, but I do not believe that he has worn the number 7 before. I'm pretty certain that against the Warriors in round 7 2002 (Late April, possibly about 27th or 28th - my guess 27th, anyone able to confirm this?) that Matt Orford was named at halfback, but was a late withdrawal. The previous week and Geyer filled in at number 7 late in the game after Smith went down injured. Was when we had 4 halfbacks in about 5 weeks (Turner, Ox, and Smith all wearing the 7, Geyer just playing the role) They were also wearing the Yellow jerseys that game in Auckland when he played halfback for the full 80.

How co I remember all this little bits of info - it was the historic debut of the one and only Kirk Reynoldson. :D

Oh yeah, forgot, Ox played round 1 and 2 in the 7, Marty played 3 and 4, had the accident, Cam played 5 and started round 6 (One of them was against the Bulldogs, I'm sure of it) and Ox was named for round 7 but never played. So was definitely round 7 in 2002 that Geyer PLAYED hlafback, not WORE the number 7.

I thought he wore the #7 once as he said he was nervous about playing the game as he had to learn how to feed the scrum again. but could be wrong.

So we have....

Kimmorley
Watts
Carmichael
Orford
Smith
M. Turner

MG and Swainy have both had a run there, but I don't think they've worn the 7 jersey.

In the 2003 pre-season game v the VRL (Billy's debut where he scored 5 tries) MG wore #6. Who was the halfback that afternoon?

I know that in 2000 Swain played against Parramatta in the halves during the first of the 3 origin affected games, but I think that was the only time he played in the backs. I'm also pretty sure that he was playing 5/8, with Watts at halfback. I've got something somewhere about that game - was an absolutely attorcious night if I recall correctly. (friday night Ch 9 game) and will see if I can find out about it, but I don't think he's played at halfback.

The 2003 preseason, I am stuck on that one. I'll hazard a guess and say that it was Cronk that played halfback then. (I'm assuming Orford didn't play for some reason)
