Re: Time is running out for Waldron
Rubbish Thunder!!! Storm membership has grown, and crowds have grown steadily too! You won't grow crowds exponentially until:- 1. The Storm get their new stadium. Olympic Park is a run-down piece of shit that struggles to accomodate 15,000 fans. Until this is rectified, crowds cannot grow significan...

Re: Cam decision
Don't agree - sorry. Last year still had about 7 players in Origin, and yet we finished the Minor Premiership comfortbaly on 46 points? This year we had a few more Origin players, but we lost more games, and ended finishing 1st with two other teams, and only won the minor premiership because of our ...

Re: Cam decision
Shame about Cam......BUT let's be honest, look at the Storm's line-up. In 2008, they had 10 Origin players! The Storm have big names with plenty of depth........Camerson will be a huge loss and given that Ryan Hoffman also won't be playing, this will reduce the number of Origina players down to 8 + ...

Re: Peter's claims about Storm finances
Peter you sound like an absolute tosser! You just crash into this blog site, acting like an absolute know it all......and you actually know f&ck all! You know nothing of Storm's finances or operations - so f&ck off back to Sydney, and stop pretending you support the Storm you stupid f&ck...

Re: Are Sydney clubs really in trouble?
A club, as a trading entity, get's it's revenue and costs as a total, and it will use these total funds to pay t's outgoings regardless of what cost types they are. A very large percentage of a club's running costs are the player's salaries.......sorry but until I see a club going bust or relocating...

Are Sydney clubs really in trouble?
http://www.nrl.com/News/Latest/tabid/10244/default.aspx?id=51402 A couple of weeks ago in The Daily Telegraph, eight of the nine NRL Sydney clubs were identified out as being in severe financial stife, with Cronulla singled out as facing the greatest risk of extinction. One of the main reasons ident...

Re: 769,000 Storm supporters.
Why can't we get 14k+ to a match? 1. Despite claims being made that the ground can hold 18k, I reckon the ground struggles to cater for 15k, so automatically that's probably why we can't get to the 14k. 2. Why pay $20-$21 for a pathetic view where you going to find yourself standing up behind the go...

Re: 60 MINUTES Story featuring Storm
"The Sydney teams will not be able to survive for much longer if this format continues. Gradual expansion or selling of games interstate may be the best option. At the end of the day this country has proven time and time again that it is not big enough to support so many teams - in any code.&q...

Re: 60 MINUTES Story featuring Storm
PS. The above threads are not excuses for the lower NRL crowds.....they are some legitimate points highlighting the differences between Sydney (ie. NRL) and Melbourne (ie. AFL).
And it is critical for administrators to undertand these differences, if they are to address the issues!

Re: 60 MINUTES Story featuring Storm
I'm not living in la la land by any means. I'm just calling it as I see it! And I'm not going to admit that the Swans are a force in Sydney because that is clearly not the case. The only reason why we're having this discussion at the moment is because 1) last week was the big announcement that sever...

Re: 60 MINUTES Story featuring Storm
Right on Erpel9999! Irrespective of all the news regarding turmoil with poker machine revenues in the papers last week, all NRL indicators are up - crowds, membership, merchandise, TV ratings etc etc....... As a supporter, what is frustrating with the NRL is that in the last few years (after recover...

Re: 60 MINUTES Story featuring Storm
"You must also remember they have a strong base of Melbourne members from the old South Melbourne ties".
And it proves my point again!
