At best they were naive, at worst they showed his complete lack of understanding of the Rugby League cultureStormwarning[c] wrote: Waldrons comments were a little tongue in cheek

Re: Crowd booing Smith?
i think Waldron has over-acted here. i mean i was expecting it...and i would have done the same if it was a manly fan  Finally, one of you is thinking without the rose coloured glasses. How much of the GF loss can be attributed to Waldron not apologising and allowing the additional pressure...

Re: Crowd booing Smith?
Ask Buzz, he seems to know much about these things................. Melbourne Storm chief executive Brian Waldron has launched an attack on the people of Sydney after suspended captain Cameron Smith was booed by fans at yesterday’s NRL grand final. Smith – was banned for two weeks for a grapple tack...

Re: Now we are being sued
Rugby League is the greatest game in the world run by the dumbest people in the world Quote of the year. ;) and I thought all you guys/gals thought the sun shone from out of Waldron's backside, I have completely misinterpreted the average intellect of the users of this board! It is satisfying that ...

Re: Storm to deal with legal dispute after GF
What is wrong is the way the whole citing process is handled, the actual judiciary process is not. Waldron has every right to try and change the way the citing system works, because at the moment it needs a whole lot of attention. However the problem here is how is going about it and leaving himself...

Re: Storm to deal with legal dispute after GF
You tell me what facts to check, and we'll go from there. I am not involved in any defamation action currently, and of course currently is the most important word in that statement. Time may change that. As a supporter I am entitled to my opinions of the management of this club, if you don't like m...

Re: Storm to deal with legal dispute after GF
Seeing that I have never made any comment about Gallop in these pages how do you know what I think of his leadership. You are just making an assumption that I support his stance? As far as I am aware Waldron made no statements that could be considered defamatory, Bellamy did. It was Waldron's job to...

Re: Storm to deal with legal dispute after GF
and if the unthinkable occurs and we lose the GF, I can assure you that one of the reasons that will be trotted out will be the distraction caused by this defamation action and how it may have affected Bellamy. Of course by then an apology (if that is what Waldron is planning) will be too late. Any ...

Re: Now we are being sued
who cares....it was worth every cent that they get sued! I would love to know how you could possibly quantify that statement, the biggest concern here is not the fact that the we are about to lose even more cash, it is the fact that Waldron has allowed Bellamy to even the slightest distraction this...

Re: Now we are being sued
Is Waldron a bigger fool than what he has already proved. This action is not about the inconsistencies of the judiciary but rather the inference that the judiciary members involved themselves in some form of corrupt behaviour. For gods sake take your blinkers off and look at the facts as they stand ...

Re: Now we are being sued
Melbourne's off-field dramas ahead of Sunday's NRL grand final continued today as members of the league's judiciary panel decided to begin legal action against Storm coach Craig Bellamy and chief executive Brian Waldron. The court action comes in the wake of the Melbourne pair appearing to question ...

The NRL have announced today that the members of judiciary panel will commence legal proceedings immediately against both Bellamy & Waldron as a result of the comments made by both men.

Re: Now we are being sued
The defamation will result from Bellamy's accusation that the betting agencies had prior knowledge of the outcome and that they (the judiciary) had somehow leaked the information to those agencies. Whilst defamation in this case is not clear cut there is certainly enough to suggest that an action by...
