Re: Rd 20 - Storm vs Sharks (Friday Night Football - Ch. 9) Thread
any news on the revised crowd as yet The revised crowd, not a huge change, but it helps the average: Following on from yesterday’s note regarding a faulty turnstile on Friday night at Olympic Park for Melbourne Storm’s match against the Sharks, the correct crowd figure is 11,673. Regards, Polly Pol...

Re: Rd 20 - Storm vs Sharks (Friday Night Football - Ch. 9) Thread
Interesting development on the crowd on Friday night. The NRL has just shot this out to all Media groups: An interesting development. I just recieved this in my email: Please note the Melbourne Storm have reported that a malfunctioning turnstile meant that the crowd figure issued on Friday night w...

Re: 2007 Trials
Be interesting to see what type of crowd the Storm would draw at Princess Park. Its only a trial, so its unlikely to capture and hearts and minds of even all the Storm supporters, let alone the rest of the Melbourne public, but I wonder what the Storm management would do if a significantly sized cr...

Re: Central Coast - Closer than you might think
This idea works well for team crowds as well. The Coast geneally turn up in reasonable numbers for quality Rugby League clashes, especially if they involve popular teams from the region such as Roosters, Tigers and Bulldogs.

Re: Storm final at the Dome?
We needed two threads for this? I think everyone has already expressed their opinions on this matter... Sorry which thread is the other thread about this? I've looked through the first three pages of the message board and can't find any title with reference to a Storm final at the Dome. I think t...

Hopefully the Bulldogs win, the bigger the gap between first and second, the better for us.
The JJ Gillitan shield would look good down at Princess Park head office with the NRL Trophy and World Club Challenge Trophy.

Re: Storm in Premier League
What? The Young Guns went back to the QRL a few years ago because NSWRL wanted their competiton to be NSW (and ACT) only. At least that's what I read back then. You'll find that view came from officials from Parramatta, the Roosters and North Sydney clubs and a lot of that view also was based aroun...

Re: Storm in Premier League
Why didn't the QRL like the young guns? Just interested... At the time the QRL were concerned that if the Cowboys entered a team into the competition, it would not only lead to a player drain from the other Queensland Cup sides but would also result in a situation where that particular team would d...

Re: Storm in Premier League
NSWRL kicked out the NQ Young Guns because they wanna keep things in the family. Melbourne wouldn't be much of a welcome addition on that account. Im not sure where you got that information from, it was acctually the QRL kicked out the Young Guns from their State Cup, hence why they joint the NSWRL...

Storm in Premier League
With the Storm and the Bears not getting on, and Melbourne cutting back on their partnership with the Norths Devils, the Storm have been in contact with the NSWRL about the possibility of a Melbourne team entering the NSWRL structure in the future. Now the start I am lead to believe would be a side ...

Re: big crowd for Broncos
From what I've heard from the Storm offices and that, the crowd that was announced was slightly less than what was acctually in the ground...some numbers saved if they need to be used for future smoothing. The Storm have been talking up that they will get a significant increase in crowds off the bac...

Re: Storm strike new deal
The Storm jersey was worth over $1.2 million with the signing of Medibank and HostPlus but before Mortgage Houses' signing. That makes the jersey up there with the top NRL clubs, and put it only behind the likes of Brisbane, Roosters and the Bulldogs. Since the signing of Mortgage House, we are ve...

Re: Round 7: Melbourne v Newcastle
Lets just hope the Storm don't go into the game thinking they only have to turn up to win. Be interesting to see what the crowd will be for the first home game. Eight points from the first six rounds, and one match that only just got away from us (v Tigers), its a very good start to the season, so ...

Re: News -Storm sign Host Plus as joint major sponsor with Medibank Private
Our strip was already one of the better sponsored strips (monetary wise) with just Medibank Private and HostPlus, the Mortgage House deal only helps our monetary position. Hmm, I hope when we finally play in our home strip, they make the sponsors fit into the jersey a bit and not make it look like i...
