Re: Official thread and signing news

You could argue we don’t need any on field captaincy because they are such a well drilled outfit, cos there isn’t a fat lot of it happening on the park.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Not sure what Pene leaving has to do with anything, either. Was he going to be our next captain?

Excuse me? That's the pot (Lucas) calling the Kettle black.

I'd suggest you look up the dictionary definition of the word 'Captain'.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Well, you clearly know everything. Just how has JBrom's captaincy gone for you this year? I'll tell you something, he has been well below par this year, almost going through the motions. As much as he's been brilliant over the years, 2020 an 2021 have not been vintage years. As Nacho said, he'd be p...

Re: Official thread and signing news

Now, Melbourne, ffs, you now have the opportunity to totally overhaul the idiocy that is our captain(s) set-up. An abject failure in 2021 and a great opportunity to set things right, moving forward. Is it a failure if we win the Premiership? That's not the deciding factor. The fact is, we have seen...

Re: Official thread and signing news

Another kick in the guts. Cronulla. Again. As an NRL fan, you get used to being majorly disappointed, no more than when I was a loyal North Sydney Bear. Dale was a great stalwart and we turned him into the beast he is today. Another case of ‘we make ‘em - they take ‘em’. Now, Melbourne, ffs, you now...

Re: Round 19 - Cowboys vs Storm

And putrid, biased commentary from Fox. And whilst we’re on the topic, the touchies have essentially eff all to do, the least they could do was to rule on the fifteen forward passes from the Cows tonight. Pfft.

Re: Round 19 - Cowboys vs Storm

The worst forward pass non-decision I’ve ever seen. Just disgusting.

Re: Blow outs

Read an article somewhere recently that proposed a rule change that may help balance it a bit more is to make the scoring team kick-off after a try. Sounded like an interesting proposition that would at least give the defending team some time with the ball. Would probably need to trial it in U20s o...

Re: Official thread and signing news

Aaron Woods? The only good thing is, he’d come cheap.

Frankly, we have an ordinary straight line bash into the line merchant in Jesse Bromwich. Bloody hell, remember when he really could play?

Aaron Woods we can certainly do without.

Re: Round 16 - Roosters vs Storm

Not especially, because Walker would have had his full faculties without a head clash and the tackle would have looked way less awkward and clumsy. Again, kicker tackles are generally soft affairs, kickers more often than not will get guided to a soft landing by the tackler. Taking all question of l...

Re: Round 16 - Roosters vs Storm

He was slung to the ground after the kick . The salient point that needs to be made is that generally, kicker tackles are dealt out, less severely. I understand why they remonstrated. If you can’t - it’s your prerogative, but It’s a poor analogy to draw any comparison between the Olam tackle on Walk...

Re: Round 16 - Roosters vs Storm

Trying to be as impartial as a one-eyed Storm supporter can be - I'm not sure whether those complaining were complaining about the head clash, as head clashes occur, rather the forcefulness of the tackle To the letter, you cannot tackle the kicker, either - high, late or in a dangerous manner. My in...

Re: Round 16 - Roosters vs Storm

Trent Robinson bitching moaning about Welch yet conveniently forgets his bloke and his potential neck breaking late hit on Munster. Not condoning Welch and I wouldn’t be surprised if he got charged, but let’s be at least balanced. It would unfashionable to think of Jesse being our weakest link a few...

Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

So, Tyrell Fuimaono gets just 5 weeks and we still have to endure a seemingly endless stay on the sidelines for Ryan.

I don’t recall too much fallout over his actions. The game really does have a major problem with head injuries and long term health of its players.
