Re: Hanson trying to peg back the damge

I agree.  I don't think they will do anything this year - keep the focus on why teams should't cheat the salary cap.  In 2011 it will get a thorough debate.  The AFL model seems to make sense (but they do have a draft - which I don't like) I think the new Independent Commission will work on it - so ...

Re: Storm v Cowboys....

I think they are waiting to see if he playes.  I think he will. Apparently Cowboys have had very good ticket sales - expecting 14,000.  On one of the footy shows last night they interviewed Cowboys supporters.  I think they were supportive of Storm in general - quite laid back as you would expect.  ...

Re: Exit stage left: News Ltd demands Storm player sale

Gallup seems to have backed down - saying as long as there under the cap, regarless how they get there.

There was a good article in Herald Sun today, but I can't find a link

Re: Rugby League Week Magazine

It's not worth the effort to scan it - a pretty typical article - Storm are cheats - they should be forced to give a player to each of the other clubs, then play on with their remaining players.  It isn't worth reading.  I've decided not to read, or at least take to hart alot of the anti-storm histe...

Hanson trying to peg back the damge

http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/nrl/its-twice-more-unto-the-breach-for-the-storm/story-e6frepaf-1225858550782 When Matt Hanson took over as acting CEO in January, he knew he had to move to reduce the spending. While Hanson has been stood down since news of the scandal became public, it's underst...

Re: Round 7 vs Warriors

All the supporters I saw where in Storm gear.  Apparently there were a lot of people on the train coming from the AFL game to the storm game - I think there would have been a few people there who follow Melbourne Storm - even though they don't go to the games - who wanted to show there support. How ...

Re: storm should challenge the salary cap

I thought good on you haynes.  He can understand the players wanting to keep together.  It is the NRL rules that discourage player loyality and fans hate it when their favorites have to move on - for the sake of keeping other teams competative.

Re: Let me entertain you.

That was very exciting play - all of those offloads.  Mind you we often play more flashy when we are in the lead, but we set of the whole game like that.  And the defence was spot on - playing for each other all night. I like the Warriors line - we were there to be the hapless opposition and that we...

Re: Average NRL Crowds at the end of Round 7, 2010

That's good - I like Sat games.  I was thinking that I was glad we would be "missing out" on Friday night games now - too hard to get to after work - organise the kids etc.  I hadn't thought about Monday - do Channel 9 actually broadcast it- I hadn't realised. No Channel 9 coverage isn't g...

Re: Is there a Lawyer in the house?

What about a class action from the fans - but it would have to be directed against Waldron and Co. Minor Premiership & Premiers T-Shirts (5 * $30) The cost of the way too early 6am flight from Avalon & return in 2007 Accomodation in Parramatta. Petrol costs for 2009 trip Crappy accomodation ...

Re: Storm Ownership?

We don't need leagues clubs as such.  Most AFL clubs own pubs and clubs and get a stream of funds from these.  This is still a large investment needed - and in AFL seems to be somewhere to put all the profit they are making.
