Re: Official thread and signing news

Gee whiz, I'd rather Todd Carney.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Interesting that the official Storm site lists Cameron but not Reimis.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Do we need both Harry and Brandon? Couldn't we make do with one or the other? For mine, that question is in the hands of Brandon. If Brandon is hellbent on playing 9 and won't play anywhere else, then yes, we'll make do with just one of them. If he is OK to play 13 or bench utility, then we are bet...

Re: Official thread and signing news

Whilst this is about Hughes right now, I think in general any of our players looking for paydays of that magnetidue would be wise to do it before Cam retires or moves on. Once he is gone, the pretenders get found out- of which there are very little if any, but their form is largely dependant on his...

Re: Official thread and signing news

Can’t see him staying past 2022 now Ditto - which links to the whispers of the Matt Burton interest. I’m pretty confident if Jahrome gets a huge offer, I don’t think the Storm will stand in his way even for 2021 if it keeps the Smiths and Harry in purple for 2021. Can't agree with this, why would w...

Re: Official thread and signing news

Jahrome is a good player but he's not worth being in the to 10-15 paid players in the comp, which that sort of money would make him. Jury is still very much out on how he'd go being the number 1 playmaker, without a Smith or a Munster to run the show for him. As you would only pay that sort of money...

Re: Official thread and signing news

If Cam plays on, Harry goes again. The only question is if it's a loan again or he makes it permanent.

Why is Hughes a big domino?
He isn't. He is signed for next year and is needed. 2022 may well be a different story.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Still quite a few things up in the air, isn't there? I mean Brenko remains unsigned I believe, and Jesse has a player option for 2021 and 2022, which I assume he takes up? On top of all the above.

Hoffy 2018.
Slater 2019.
Smith 2020.
Bellamy 2021.
Chambers 2022.
Bromwich 2023.
Finucane 2024.

Sorted.
Hmmmm
That'll teach me for predicting 7 straight premierships!

Re: Official thread and signing news

I'm aware we haven't signed (m)any big name outside backs. But we've gone on record in saying we won't release JAC unless we get a like for like replacement. I'm hoping that that's not Jennings. He's fine as backup but I was hoping for better than that as a JAC replacement.

Yeah maybe not, makes my point even more prevalent though.

I hope like hell we have another wing signing up our sleeve.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Blazza18 and Lucas what were your thoughts when Easts Tigers and then Storm signed three times NRL "reject" Brenko Lee? I felt the same about Lee when he was signed as I do hearing about Jennings. Lee has been good for us and I think Jennings will be similar. As long as Jennings is willin...

Re: Official thread and signing news

Jennings is a fine stop gap but hopefully we're still looking for more options. Relying on a guy who hasn't cracked a permanent spot in the NRL at 27 isn't ideal. I'd been surprised by the positivity on here in regards to his potential signing. This assessment is more along the lines of what I'm th...
