Official thread and signing news
Brenko is actually younger than i thought. So maybe some maturing, development and improvement is still in him. I imagine he'll be another Dane Nielsen, Maurice/Cheyse Blair type in that he won't be a star but he'll get the job done for Craig.

I don’t mind this signing at all. Brenko Lee was earmarked a few years ago as a potential origin player and was in the developing Maroons team.
He was great filling in a few spots in the backline for the Raiders in 2016 too.
If he tightens up his defence he could be very, very good.

And left of left field, Cameron Munster.Scooter wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 8:19 am Storm just announced Brenko Lee signing so just one spot to fill in our 30 man squad.
So players in our squad that can play centre:
Justin Olam
Marion Seve
Brenko Lee
Isaac Lumelume
Tom Eisenhuth
(And a couple of left field options)
Jahrome Hughes
Nicho Hynes
Others don't agree but I see Munster ideally suited. Agreed he's good in the halves but I feel with running on to the ball and being more selective when to get involved I think he'd be a whole lot more dangerous out wide. Call it the second coming of GI. (Disclaimer, we'd need a 5/8!)

I agree that he would make a damn fine centre but it would be a waste to put him out there where he would have to go looking for the ball and only have one side of the field to play with.
I heard he is gone (from a reliable source). Apparently told the boys last week. It is a massive shame, but he is too good to be stuck in Q Cup. And Brandon is still super keen on the 9 once Smithy is gone.
We have been super lucky to have a number of young guns waiting in the wings in recent years. Can’t play them all. Can’t keep them all. Still hurts losing what is no doubt going to be a very good NRL level hooker.

I thought one of the reasons we let so many players go during the off season was to sign young up and coming players, so that no one once could. Why are we now letting one who just recently signed go. So silly from the club if it is true.
